For you guys there on Friday, could you report on some prices? Specifically reloading components: brass, bullets, powder & primers for 5.56 & 7.62? I cant go until either Sat. or Sun. and then I am wondering if its worth the trip.... I really need to stay away so I dont spend any $$, but...... TIA, |
| Any good $ for lowers? Looking for a couple plus a adj stock or 2. Or a complete lower with adj stock plus some mags? Anyone see any of the NIB 30rds for like $12. I plan on going tomorrow mourn. Raided the piggy bank. Obama said change so I am spending it. Anyone know if anyplace is selling, I have about $350. Open to ideas as I have not bought anything for awhile. |
|
I just got back. I got there at 2:30 and the line was out the door, around the side of the building, and halfway to the other side! It was moving quick though, I got in in about ten minutes. There weren't many vendors with reloading stuff, I bought Tennessee Valley out of H50, but their prices on CCI #35 were a bit high ($165! Plus Tax!). Prices on powder and bullets and primers were about average. I did stop in with PK and bought an LR308 (woohoo! haven't shot it yet, got home at dark, but the trigger is NICE.) The poor guy working the booth and the kid were way overworked. I spent about two hours there and saw everything I wanted to see. Knob Creek is usually much better but I had to miss it this fall and the spring show was cancelled due to flooding. |
There was a local dealer selling "Blemished" Double Star stripped lowers for $84.99 or 5 for $400.00! |
Cool thanks for the heads up. This trip might be worth it. Did you get to see the blemished ones, were they minor, or you think they were out of spec? Not had much knowledge of the blemished parts. But for that price sounds like a deal. |
I looked them over, and it took me a while to find the "blemishes". I was told that the lowers were still in spec, and it was only cosmetic. |
It was Malachi West from Law Enforcement Firearms. Hes in the center building back right. Hes really close to the "Jacks Stuff" sign. The lowers are in spec and the blems are hard to see. |
I got the LR308C, I'd post pics but don't know how? I got it to replace my Polytech M14 which I am going to sell to help finance the new girl. I wanted a semi .308 which was more modular than the M14, and a little lighter. I love my Polytech, it's got a nice trigger and is reasonably accurate (more than I am except when I'm shooting prone), but it has the fake flash supressor and putting optics on it is a dicey, pricey proposition. I got home too late last night to shoot it, but the trigger feels really nice, and the balance is right. I decided on DPMS over the AR10 in part because of my good experience with the AR15 DMPS Sportical I got. RRA was never an option due to the low availability. I feel DPMS makes decent rifles at a decent price. PK had the rifle priced at $990. Unfortunately I had to pay Indiana Sales tax :( |

I arrived at 1345 on a mission. My stockpile of SA 7.62 was worthless as my tack driving (0.75 MOA) Bushmaster BAR-10 doesn't run reliably. I needed a .308 solution, no excuses. The line was incredible, from the door to the corner, then clear to the next corner, two full sides of the building, 2 to 3 wide the full length. Standard comment was "last chance to buy ammo?" The crowd slowed me down, it took all of thirty minutes to scan three rooms worth of tables. Several FALs, $600 to $900, no DSAs visible. One AR-10, eleven hundred and change if memory serves. No RRA LAR-8s, the dealer who had one last show wasn't even there. Two standard Springfield M1As, synthetic stocks, thirteen hundred and change and...sixteen hundred and change . One loaded Springfield M1A, chrome bbl, $1592 cash price with "tax", that one isn't there any more. ![]() South wall of middle room, little west of center has USGI M14 mags, vintage 1962, sealed in milspec wrappers, $35 each or three for $100. His stockpile is smaller by 12 now, about half left unless he had more in reserve. $80 scope mount, will tide me over till a Brookston arrives then become a spare, two slings, one web belt, and I was out of there by 1600. Good, successful show, unless you're one of more than half of the Indiana residents that the polls say plan to vote Obama, if so, you can pound sand. |

Quoted: Quoted: I picked up 10 myself for $750. I could not pass them up at that price ($75 esch)Picked up 10 of those DOUBLE STAR lowers Holy shit they are nice, its really hard to find the blems. Pick some up, you won't be sad. What time did you buy yours? I got mine early saturday and he had probably 10-15 left. How many did he have left when you got yours? |

I just got back from there. Didn't buy much, but I found a Taurus 66 6" .357 mag for $275 otd. Also got me another WASR10 for $430 otd. I'm done buying for the year. That makes one Bushmaster AR, 2 AK47's, one Glock 23, two Ruger LCPs, and the Taurus 66 this summer. The cabinet is full now. I really wanted to buy a Ruger Blackhawk, but I couldn't find a SS 357. Oh well. There's always January. (hopefully) On another note, I talked to some of the vendors and they said people pretty much snapped up all the good stuff on Friday. It was so packed while I was there that it was hard to move about. The nice thing is they had it in the larger pavilion this time and it was three rooms. Still crowded as hell though. |

Quoted: I wouldn't worry about that too much. When I was there me and another guy bought the last 6 on the table...until they slid an entire box out from underneath the table! hahahQuoted: Quoted: I picked up 10 myself for $750. In the 20 minutes I was standing there I saw 15 go. It was crowded as hell but I nice show. That was my virgin trip to the Indy 1500 and by far the largest gun show I've been to. The could have done a better job of the table spacing, some were EXTREMELY close together and some were crazily far apart. Food was OUTRAGEOUSLY priced!!!!! If I wasn't about to pass out from hunger there is NO way I would have eaten there. Chicken strips, fries and a bottle water was $10!!!! There were still some good prices on mags, I found P-Mags for $14, 30 rd AR15 mags for $10, 20 rd AR15 mags for $10 as well. Even found some AK mags for $10 but $14-18 was the norm. Police trade in collapsible stocks for $45 w/ spring and buffer (looked brand new). .30 cal ammo cans 2 for $6, .50 2 for $10. There were some HORRIBLY overpriced guns there though....I saw a Barrett .50 for just over $10,000. I'll be going to the next one....but NOT eating there. ETA: I'm pretty pissed off at Model 1 Sales right now.....they told me $225 for a 20" heavy barrel....thank god I didn't buy it cause I can order the EXACT same barrel from their website for $165! Let me first say that if someone is gay that is fine by me as long as I don't get hit on. In the long run it reduced my competition by 2 for each couple. hahaha Oh and on a funnier note; I saw a gay couple there SEVERAL times. I was there for 5 1/2 hours total and saw them off and on almost the entire time. They were asking all kinds of questions and looking at all kinds of guns. The odd thing is that the short younger one (his partner was tall and older) said he was from Cincinnati but had a Missouri license. The only thing I saw them with was a range bag that they bought. It was really weird and made me wonder if there were not "spying" for a blog or something. I'm sure you saw them. |

Who was wearing the od green arfcom shirt? Who was wearing the black arfcom hoodie? Picked up a complete RRA lower and collapsable stock from PK for 295 otd and it was the last and I beat the next guy in line from getting it by 30 secs. Bought a couple of the 30rds for $10. I took my father in law and Gpa in law from Michigan, they have never been, they loved it. My pops also came along. By the time I got out of there I was pulling out my hair from everyone saying clips. I also noticed the pistols going like crazy, some were way to overpriced. Seemed like the hi-cap mags were selling well. Over all I was happy, and my knees are wore out. |

| I was there with a white t-shirt with flag and arfcom on it. Picked up the only 458 SOCOM upper in the joint and a box of 250gr ammo for it. Rock River upper for $665. Ammo was $60 a box(ouch!). Will definitely have to reload for it. I think I PO'd a dealer cuz he was talking to noob on buying one of his $850 M1 Carbines. He was saying the CMP is not the way to go cuz all they got is Junk. Saying they were all Italian shot out junk. The noob said thanks to me and said he would check out the CMP. I hate to see a dealer rip off someone cuz they can. |

Well enjoyed the show. Bought a RRA lower for 125 and one of the 45 dollar collapsible stocks. I looked at the blem lowers but after looking at all on the table, I decided to go with the RRA. This will be my one and only ar15 and I was being picky. Spikes lowers were 140 for the pictograph and 120 for fire/safe but they sold out of those just as we walked up to the table. Saw complete DPMS lowers with stock for 209 at ZX guns table. Finished up with some elk peppered beef stick. Matt |

Hi guys, I'm back from the Indy 1500 and surprisingly still alive! You would not believe all the panic-buying that was going on. We sold every single AR and AK we took with us along with nearly 50% of the handguns and nearly all the hicap mags. In addtion to the evil stuff, we sold out of PCRs for the upcoming deer season. Total count for the three days was well over 100 pieces and the shop is going to be looking extremely empty for a few days. I think we sold right around 30 suppressors and I bet half of those people were concerned with getting their approved paperwork back by 1/20/09 I picked up another upper from J&T along with a Sig P6 from Mr. and Mrs. GH. There didn't seem to be any deals on ammo at all. This election now has me stressing out more than before. For those of you that stopped by to say hello....thanks a bunch I can only imagine what the January show will be like if Mr. Hope and Change is elected. That show will be just a few days before the inaguration of the new president. |
