Handyman it depends on where you are talking about. There is also the Georgetown Conservation Club the have both a trap range and a pistol/rifle range but you have to be a member. You can go to their website which is www.fccconline.net to get info on them and download an application.

Been a member there for a few years. They do have a range with a 10, 25, 50, and 100yd berm. As mentioned above, check the website for pictures.

Going to check the website, but I seem to remember stopping in there once and was told centerfire rifles weren't allowed. It was the one on 64 going into georgetown.

Do you have to be a NRA member to join SIRPC ?? Their range is much closer to me but I refuse to give NRA any $$ after they jumped in bed with Sen. Carolyn McCarthy after Virginia Tech and supported her gun control bill.

And before the "Post police" come after me..LOL..I know people were saying how great it was we could petition the courts to get gun rights restored, BUT that was already on the books under the McClure/ Volkmer bill. The powers that be just refused to provide any funding for the process so it was a road to nowhere. Just my .02

Yes you have to be NRA to join SIR&PC, and Yes the NRA and the GOP have not always done every thing to my liking, but then I've grown to learn that I don't always get my way

Me too...I just went with GOA instead. I was just wondering if they recognized membership in other pro-2A organizations as a qualifier to join.

It is an insurance issue.  The club insurance is carried through the NRA.  You may want to reconsider.  We shoot out to 500 yds. at SIRPC.

If you are talking about Southern Indiana, I don't think that the GOA counts, it's NRA only.

I have been a Member of Southern Indiana for a little over 12 years. Great range, bitch to cross the creek unless you have a truck.

My problem is I have had a few run-ins with High Power shooters that think because they shoot High Power that they have the right to bitch and moan when you are at the 200yd berm before them, when they want to shoot.

Weekdays, in the morning, is the best time...you often have the range to yourself, which is fine by me. I don't shooting with people I don't know.

I'll still remain a member, because I live 5 minutes from it.

KCR is where I usually go if I'm looking to shoot beyond 50 yds. I grew up in the area so it's kinda like my home range. Gas prices being what they are I don't make it over there as often as I'd like.

Asked Gunluster about the henryville range and was advised to bring my kevlar in addition to eye and ear protection, so I thought I'd skip that one.
