I'm going to be building my first AR in the next month or so. It there any special Delaware laws? Can I use any of the flash hiders and pistol grips? Do I need to have a mag lock? The only laws I can find specific to DE are handgun laws. Anyone recomend somewhere local to get a good lower or a good FFl to have one shipped to? |

Quoted: DE is cash and carry. AR's are good to go with all the evil stuff. Just no happy switch. So what do you think is local in DE? If your in slower lower go to Steele's and have fun. Cool thats what I thought. I wanted to make sure though before I bought anything. Its DE everything is local. I'm in middletown so I could pretty much be anywhere in the state in an hour or so. |

I'll be going to x-ring saturday then. I hope to pickup 2 CMMG stripped lowers to build. The only thing illegal are silencers right. So I can Still get a 14.5" barrel with flash hider to make it 16"s? I'm from Middletown myself. X-Ring is good to go. As far as the 14.5in barrel is concerned you have to have a flash hider that will make the overall barrel length 16" pinned and welded (Phantom, VLTOR, extended A2, etc.) I used Paul's gunsmith service (believe it is in Camden) to pin and weld my fh on my LMT upper. I think the price was around $20.00 or so. As far as I know Machineguns, suppressors, and DD's are a no go in DE. |

bump.
I went and picked up a stripped lower the other day. Theres a new shop called Patriot Firearms in the medowood shopping center on kirkwood hwy. Its on the side so you can't see it from the road. He had 3 complete carbines in-stock and a bunch of stripped lowers if anyone is interested. |

+1 on X-Ring Supply in the North, JD Defense in the South. JD Defense is a good place to shoot, about 1 hour drive to Georgetown this time of year. Steel ammo is ok, 100-yard range, no Ommelanden BS to deal with. If you enjoy the smell of cat urine, a owner with a attitude, some make shift dirt mounds with a target, NO RAPID FIRING and if you become a customer expect to pay full retail if you order a weapon from a catalog (no weapons on display) then JD's may be the place for you. |

I still think X-Ring is the best around town. I've noticed they're a tad bit pricier on certain things, but I have no qualms at all about giving my money to a great store like that. Excellent service, friendly and knowledgeable as all hell. I've gotten 3 guns from them and a metric shit-ton of accessories/mags/ammo as well.
As for Patriot Firearms, I'm interested in checking the joint out and went for a dry run to see if I could find the place, but I couldn't see it. I've read on Deloc.org (delaware open carry, decent site!) that it was meadowood II shopping center. However on here I read Meadowood. Can anyone confirm? Thanks |

yeah, I'd much rather go to Ommelanden and get a range official shoved up my ass, or wait 50 yrs for the OBN to allow me into Bridgeville, or pay $17 an hour and shoot nothing bigger than a 5.56 in Dover. those are much better options. whatsamatter, couldn't do whatever you felt like, on someone else's insurance policy? and prices are SO fair in New Castle and Lewes? |

Thanks I stopped by X-Ring one day last week, and I had never seen the place so bare. No ARs (I can't remember them ever being totally devoid of ARs), and just a few AK-types. Even the handgun case was kind of sad. Thanks, Obama. I'll have to take a quick trip around the Meadowood strips to see if I can locate Patriot. |

$15 an hour to shoot at JD Defense? Are there any outdoor ranges in Kent or Sussex Counties that have memberships open and do not charge prices like $15 an hour? There is a club I belong to and memberships open up in April. It is in Federalsburg Md, not far for being in Seaford but it is a outdoor range, with up to 300 yd shooting lane no B.S. just as long you mind the rules which really isnt hard to do. I enjoy going there and it is a great place to take your son or daughter, my son loves it there. 35 dollars to join, 35 dollars a year in dues you cant beat it. Cheap, no B.S. just a bunch of good ol boys who like shootin. If you are interested get up with me and I can tell you how to get there, the next meeting is the first Wednesday of the month. Marshy Hope Rod and Gun Club. |
| I stopped by Patriot Firearms, they are in the Meadowood Shopping Center. It is the shopping center on the west side of the road. Their shop is located where Lou's Gun Shop was several years ago. This is the same shopping center as The Gray Fox, Sushi Somo and the new location for Happy Harry's. |

Worth the trip (although they are just about a mile or two up the road from work)? |

Patriot FIrearms didn't have much last time I was there but they did have 2 AR15s. They are friendly and will order stuff for you if you want. I saw a couple at Charlie Steele's place on Rt 9 Lewes as well as Hopkins on Joesph Rd. Didnt look at the price, cause I was looking for something else. |
| I was at x-ring last Saturday and they had a couple AR's and a few stripped lowers in stock. Didn't look at price because my friend was looking at getting her first handgun and was constantly asking me what I thought of the guns. She decided she want's a P22 because it fits her hand best. She is 5'0" and has really small hands. She had to stretch to reack the trigger on my Sig P6. |
