Is anyone familiar with this range?  My wife's family has a beach house that we go to occasionally and it would be nice to have a local place to shoot.  The website mentions memberships, but I'm wondering if there are hourly options too... might only go a handful of times per year.

I shoot at JD's, regularly. there are two pistol ranges, up to 25 yards, and a rifle range with 25, 50 and 100 yard targets. John's a very reasonable individual; knowledgable, experienced and pleasant to deal with.

I believe a visitor is allowed to shoot at the range twice, before being required to become a member. As best I know, membership is about $40/year, plus $10 per hour, or about $200 per year to shoot all you want.

since you are shooting earthen berms, there are no restictions on steel ammo, which great if you shoot surplus rifles. any rifle or pistol legal to own in DE can be shot here, but shots are restricted to about one per second as class 3 weapons are illegal in DE and unwanted attention is not desireable.

I'm not John (the owner), so please don't take policies and prices as gospel without checking with John, first. I am however, a very satisfied and repeat customer.

see you on the range.

I have heard of this range, it is supposed to be a very good pistol range.  Although for a cheaper range with more yardage try Delmarva Sporting Clays off of rt 50 right outside of salisbury near the vienna bridge. 15 dollars to shoot all day, 25 yd, 50 yd, 100 200 and 300, with some steel targets and spinners for the pistols, as well as skeet and trap.. Theres also Tin Man Custom off nanticoke raod, closer to salisbury, 10 dollars all day, 15, 25, 50 and 100 yards, no shotgun.

Thanks for the replies.  I spoke to the owner a few months ago and he seemed like a pretty good guy.  We ended up coming down to Southern Delaware a few times this summer, but I never ended up visiting this range - good to know that it's there though!  My father-in-law was thrilled when I told him about it.
