I'm a member there also, you must let me know next time you go, I've never so much as seen one being fired.

Yes, each member is allowed one guest on the firing line, but there can only be one, either the member or the guest. You can bring as many people as you want.
IIRC my last membership renewal was ~165.00, you save 5 bucks for attending the meeting after the first of the year, around Feb. I think it is.
I usually go out there Sat. and Sundays, I'll post the next time I go out and you're more than welcome to meet me or tag along.

Edit to add: Forgot to mention this, but all new members must attend the meeting and get the tour around the place, pretty informative gives you a chance to see what all there is.

I had just posted around on some other forums about needing a range to join/shoot at.

One of the fellows suggested Marriotsville. This looks like a nice place, the dues are kind of high, but I guess that with gas being what it is, all things equal out.

I live in Perry Hall and am just getting into High Power with my M1 Garand. I am also just starting to load my own rounds for this weapon.

I probably need to ride out there and check it out.

I have a question. I see that there are many "clubs" that list Marriottsville as their range. Monumental is one. Why is this?

okay AGC stands for associated gun clubs, there are many gun clubs, and they all use that range. basicly you join a club then buy your range badge.

i used to be a member and used monumental it is one of the cheaper clubs to join

my only problem is how stuck up the range is in general. i have been bitched at for firing 1 round a sec on the pistol range, by a another shooter practicing for a handgun match. he said my 40 was to loud for him to consentrate, and at 1 round per second he could not time his shots between my shots with enough time to recover from my muzzle blast, and he was a good 8 lanes away.

i will live with the other rednecks at elkneck and be able to enjoy my trip a little more

If your looking for some place to shoot High Power matches you can shoot over here just across the Delaware line. For the 2 day matches they dont normally have a problem with you pitching a tent or camper there. Here is the link for  matches.

My brother is getting his Monumental Maryland Rifle Club Club/AGC range safety walkthru 9am tomorrow (7/15) starting at the Barnes/100 yd clubhouse. I would suspect if interested parties showed up with a completed application and checkbook they also would be good to go.

Some people seriously need to get a life. "I'm going to go to a pistol range but I'll bitch if it's noisy." That's the same type of person who says I'm going out to a bar but if anybody's smoking or drinking I'll be offended.  People like that make me feel like carrying a bag of pacifiers so when they start I'll have something to toss them.

I don't live far from Marriottsville.  I'd be delighted if someone would have me as a guest one day for a few hours.
