Like anyplace else, it all depends on where you live.

Taxes, you cannot beat DE.
There is a reason most EVERY company is corp'ed in DE.

The Wilmington/Philly corridor is a dump IMO, but that's where the work is.
The beaches are nice, but big-$$$ real estate.
No NFA in DE.
CCW is NOT shall-issue, but is isn't a major problem in many areas. DE has reciprocity with a number of states, so that says something. If they recognize out of state CCW's, they aren't that brutal when it comes to issuing an in-state CCW, but whenever there is "discretion" there will always be abuse.

From what I've been told, Delaware CCW is just a matter of jumping through all of the hoops (including placing a tiny ad in the paper of record announcing your intention to get a CCW, total cost of all the steps is like $500).  They'll also recognize out of state CCWs, check packing.org, but I know my Florida permit is good.  If you're a Delaware resident, then you cannot use an out-of-state CCW and must have a Delaware permit.

Republican, that was the by far the dumbest DE joke ive ever heard, if you insist on deformating our little toxic waste dump then at least have the common curtiosy for a reach around.
As for living here, its just like any other place, it has pros and cons.
Pros
NO stupid state AWB
CCW is not that hard to get and contrary to popular beleive it does not cost 500+ dollars (more like 250 maybe 300) I have one.
Tax free state, Income tax is low. Property tax is low. Compared to surrounding states.
Crime is not too bad. Some shootings in Wilmington. There has been a recent rash of home invasions on older folks in Newark though.
Cons
No class 3
Traffic on I-95 sucks between 7am to 9pm
Homes are getting harder to find unless you move south of the canal
Over all not a bad state, you could live in MARYLAND or JERSEY  HAHAHAHAHAHA
Out of curiousity are you LEO?
Anyway if you need anything let me know. I have friends that are realtors and morgage brokers that could help you find a house.
Good luck

I rather live in Delaware then Pennsylvania or New Jersey. I would consider Maryland though. Not alot of (good) places to shoot in Delaware. Taxes are good, roads arnt to bad.

Wilmington is only about 25 miles away from Philly. From Wilmington to the beaches its about 1-1/2 hour drive. From Wilmington to Mountains with skiing its about 1-1/2 hour drive.

There are really nice parts to live in and there are sub-ghetto slums. The state is currently sinking alot of money into revitalizing the river front in Wilmington, so its actually getting nicer. The beaches are currently washing out to sea
