I recently moved a couple of months ago to the metro area from Alabama for a job. I'm just checking in to say hi

Also you guys didn't have to extend winter on my account. I'm sick of this snow shoveling BS.

Welcome to minny. Pretty sure we are all tired of the snow. It seems to me you always get one more dumping of snow, after winter has melted away, the Robins are back, and you are sick and tired of the white stuff. At least it doesn't usually last long this time of year.

Hopefully it won't stick around long. I'm really wanting to get out and do some hiking/camping.

So you are the reason that we got snow again!!!!!  Just to make sure you knew what a snow storm was.

Yes, we need to warm weather to return so the lakes open up for walleye opener in a month!!!!

nice to meet ya, sorry about your bad luck getting shipped off to join us here in the arctic tundra, but we make the best of it

Thanks guys. We've been up here since the end of January, so I've already had the pleasure of a few snow storms.

Wasn't bad luck really. I was needing a change and was offered a job up here. Moving to Minnesota in the middle winter wasn't on my short list of things to do, butt ultimately this was a good opportunity for myself and my family. So far we like it up here with a few exceptions.

After living all over the States and a couple places over-seas, I find that Minnesota is not all bad.  Especially if you can find something to do in the winter.  I picked up ice fishing and that has made the winters more bearable.  Plus the kids like the snow.

I find that Minnesota is darn near perfect place to live, except for our recent political problems.....

1 lake and 3 trees > ridiculousness in politics

Trouble is, North Dakota has its own problems.  The bottle rocket ban, in particular, sticks in my craw.

Please bring as much tasty Alabama pork roast and dry BBQ... this state is SERIOUSLY lacking.

As far as the weather goes, we control it as much as Al Gore...

Otherwise, welcome!!!

That's true, we have a piss poor amount of good BBQ (any kind) around here, except for my wife's homemade sweet hickory, yumm. I tell ya, I could go for one of Willie's stuffed potatoes from Mission, TX. Damn near worth the trip.

And suppressors and full auto...

For the record,  there are 3m trees in ND. I had to help plan 1500 of them in college.
