Who bought all the 22LR ammo in Rochester,MN??    I was at every store that sells ammunition and only 22LR birdshot left on the shelf.  I had to use 22 subsonic ammo and old 22lr rounds that had small ecosystems growing on the brass.

Just woke up from a long cryogenic nap I take it?

I picked up the last box of CCI mini-mags at Wal-Mart north a couple of weeks ago, and that's simply because I hadn't seen any at Fleet Farm for a while and that's what my gun runs.

So, it's my fault.

I had AR22 ammo on order for 48 days from Cabelas and I finally picked it up last Friday.

Back during the last period of draught, I made a decision to keep 500rds of every caliber as a "lower watermark" and then work toward 1K-3K more as a goal.

Good luck...

I had rat holed several thousand .22 before this whole non sense started so I guess I hadn't noticed it was affected by the craze but if you think about it .22 is some of the best stuff to hoard.  It's cheap so you can buy a ton, doesn't take much space and everyone has one so if there was ever a survivalist situation and your gun breaks beyond repair odds of getting another gun to use your ammo is good. Brb I gotta go get more .22

No, It's the same value now as it was 10 years ago.  10 years ago I could get bulk Fed for $9.  That same box of ammo is now $22.  About a 2.5 increase.

10 years ago I could get .223 AE for about 20 cents a round, today it's about 50 cents a round.  About a 2.5 increase.

10 years ago gasoline was well under $2/gal
Today its over $3.40

Milk was $2.99 a gallon 10 years ago
Today its over $3.75 a gallon

Some things go up in price faster than other. High demand items command higher prices more rapidly.

Don't go selling a 22lr handgun or rifle as quickly as you would some other caliber... Rugers .etc. tend to hold their value quite well.

CMMG 22lr kits are going for silly prices now.

Check out the on-line stores, it's not just Rochester.

Fleet Farm received some bulk remington and winchester yesterday. I got there about 5 minutes after they got it. They were keeping it behind the gun counter, and limiting people to 2 boxes. May want to check there again.

I stopped in at the lakeville fleet on saturday while I was waiting for someone to meet me to go to the "concealed carry expo" at gander, expo turned out to be wicked lame but picked off a few 525 rd boxes of remington for 17 bucks per at the farm so overall the day was a win.

I feel your pain. I recently bought a new 10/22 after giving my son mine years ago. I bought it while up north and only found one damn box of 50 Remington .22 LR along the North Shore from Grand Marais to Duluth! Had not seen any in Walmart, Fleet Farm, Cabela's or Gander Mountain since Christmas but amazingly enough stumbled onto some at the Eden Prairie Gander Mountain last week. And there's no damn Ruger 10/22 mags to be had either! I got a knock off at Walmart two weeks ago but haven't seen any since.

Although I think they're way overpriced in most stuff I was in Eden Prairie last Wednesday and stopped in at GM to see if they had any .223 (I wasn't expecting it) and they were cleaned out of .22 LR and single boxes of .223 but had about 30 cans of the bulk Federal ammo cans of 820, .223 for $529! I was stunned but not interested in panic buying a round that won't be banned even if the a-holes are successful. I went back the next afternoon to exchange a gift I got and while at the service area the cashier made a guy leave 4 extra boxes of 50 count .223 with him as there was a 2 box limit on that caliber (3 of everything else). When the guy left I asked the cashier to hold two boxes and I'd buy them as soon as I got back from upstairs. I went up and checked and there were five - 500 round (wooden) boxes of Winchester Wildcat .22LR on the shelf so I grabbed three and another guy that walked up right after me grabbed the other two. They were on sale for about $30 and since they haven't had .22 in stock anywhere we snatched 'em up! Their ad for that week also listed the Remington Golden Bullet Bucket O' Bullets (1400 rounds) for around $69 (I think) but the guy said they never even got any in.

BTW, when I came back the price of the bulk 820 round ammo cans of Lake City .223 had been marked down to $499! There still didn't seem to be a lot of them missing but I can't imagine them mistakenly pricing them $30 more considering how much they're selling it for. Anyone else heard of this?

off the original topic but I thought it was worth mentioning so no one went rushing in and made a mistake, those 820 round cans of .223 at gander for 500 bucks are tracers or at least the ones I saw were, they aren't marked extremely clearly so make sure you know what you are buying.

If 22lr ammo wasn't enough I bought a rifle from a buddy and guess what now?   I can't find a single box of ammo for .308win.   It's going to be a boring summer if I'm going to the range with my sling shot.  Because rocks are about the only thing available.

I've seen .308 everywhere I look. Even Walmart has the stuff.

You need to get out more.

I haven't looked since last weekend but it was hopeless then.  I'm going out later to check again I hope it's better luck now.
