Done - this is what I wrote:
I oppose Sen. Feinstein's New Version of the Federal Assault Weapons Ban because myself, and my fellow gun owning Americans are NOT the problem. The tragic events at Sandy Hook, and other schools were all in "Gun Free Safe Zones", and perpetrated by mentally troubled individuals. There needs to be a change of policy for these "Gun Free Safe Zones", because as everybody knows, there is no protection for the children there. It's like putting all your sheep in a field that has "Wolf Free Safety Zone" signs posted, and not expecting wolves to attack. We need REAL protection for our kids in school, not feel good laws that do nothing to solve the problem. The children of the president and congresspeople have armed guards at their schools, why are our kids any less important? The other end of the problem is the mentally troubled. There needs to be a way for people to report these individuals so that they can be evaluated, and cared for BEFORE they can cause a problem. ETA: POPVOX Nation 16% Support 84% Oppose (2406 people) |
