| Did anyone get out for opener? I wasn't able to this year, but a friend jumped 3. Just wondering what the populations were like this year, hunting in the Sandstone and Babbit areas. |

I can't speak to the rg supply, but, in Pine City and Grasston, the scratch chucker and pheasant are out there and rather abundant.
Although we had a very mild winter, the extreme heat this summer was hard on them. I guess lots of the nests the "wild" birds were laying fell to predators and eggs were "cooked". (according to the DNR) It about evened out the population from the previous year where we had near record snow fall and a brutally cold winter. Walked the edge of the road at the cabin and saw 3 roosters fly out. |
