Now THAT'S an improvement.  They're now on par with Fudd guns.  I'm sure the streets will now flow with blood

This is a good and proper change in our laws.

The next step is to remove the permit requirement altogether and acknowledge we are free, and the 2nd amendment means what it says.

Any idea how that affects AR stripped receivers?

I have a buddy that refuses to go get his permit renewed because he doesn't want to take an hour out of his workday to go while the police station is open but then bitches he can't buy a receiver without it.

I would assume that because they could also be made into a "pistol" there would be no change but does anyone know for sure?

We are hearing now that this may have been a mistake by the BCA. Hopefully NOT.

Stripped lowers still fall under the "OTHER" category which can be built into pistols so you still would require a permit and have to be 21.

It was a mistake by the BCA.  They are fixing it and a permit is still required for AR's

life is rough here in communist minnesota...

when I was in high school they made us read the constitution and talk about it, I must have not been paying attention when they read the part about the people having the right to bear permits.

It has never made sense to me that someone having a gun with a pistol grip all of a sudden turns them into a cold blooded killer that needs to be liscensed but someone having a 30-06 that could kill someone from far enough away that the victum couldn't even see the shooter is legit.

I was downloading the form for a customer and right away noticed the new statement. I called my contact at the BCA right away and they said the same thing. It was a mistake and it will be corrected as soon as possible.

Can someone explain to me how that sort of mistake can happen?  It's not like a sentence or paragraph was accidentally removed with an errant mouse click.  Someone willfully typed that in there.  Where were they getting their info?  Who told them to make the change?

That's no more of a mistake than robbing a liquor store.

Was this change part of the castle doctrine legislation that Dayton vetoed?

That's the only thing I can think of that would have gotten this line onto the app.
