No. 161, as introduced - 87th Legislative Session (2011-2012) Posted on Jan 20, 2011 1.1 A bill for an act 1.2 relating to firearms; extending time period for renewal of permit to purchase 1.3 firearm from federally licensed dealer;amending Minnesota Statutes 2010, 1.4 section 624.7131, subdivision 6. 1.5 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 1.6 Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2010, section 624.7131, subdivision 6, is amended to 1.7 read: 1.8 Subd. 6. Permits valid statewide. Transferee permits issued pursuant to this 1.9 section are valid statewide and shall expire after one year five years. A transferee permit 1.10 may be renewed in the same manner and subject to the same provisions by which the 1.11 original permit was obtained, except that all renewed permits must comply with the 1.12 standards adopted by the commissioner under section 624.7151. Permits issued pursuant 1.13 to this section are not transferable. A person who transfers a permit in violation of this 1.14 subdivision is guilty of a misdemeanor. 1.15 EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective August 1, 2011, and applies to 1.16 permits to purchase a firearm issued on or after that date. |
