My in-laws have a time share of some sort on Gull Lake and have asked us to come spend a week there with then in the first half of May.  I think the 8th thru 15th.  They also asked that I bring my boat with me.   I don’t think I can do a lot of fishing as the season won’t be open for anything but pan fish.   Is this correct?  Will it be worth pulling the boat 250 miles for the pan fish in Gull Lake?  Any fishing hot spots on the lake.  I had never even heard of the lake until they asked us to come up?  Anything I should know about the lake big rocks, shallow spots,  good or bad ramps to use.

Bring the boat. If the weather is nice, it will be fun to have around. Gull is a big time recreation lake, lots of fancy houses, etc. Walleye opener is the 15th, so you could go hardcore and go out at midnight. Lots of people do that.

My buddy Chris grew up on Gull Lake.  Bring the boat!  The pan fishing is great in that lake.  Plus you'll have a chance at catching a ton of other fish.  Just catch picture and release if they are out of season.

Bring the boat! Gull is great if you find the right spots. It gets awfully busy and messy in the summer weekends with all those wakeboarders. I would also suggest depending where your launching the boat, try out round lake too. Also bring the guns, if your on west side of gull, theres a great gravel pit  with longest distance of 200 yards just on west side of Gull.

ah thats right behind Zorbaz's nice area you will like it! Zorbaz is a great night life on the weekends during summer. You are right across from the boat launch, if you have a small boat or underpowered boat you could just stick on the channels and connecting lakes like margaret, upper gull, spider, roy and nisswa lake. But if you got a pretty fast boat you could go out on the main lake. Mine has 35 hp so it took me a quite while to get all the way from that launch to sandy beach resort. You will enjoy your time up there. click on this link Causeway On Gull Lake and browse the map yourself to get the idea of where you will be.
