If a police officer checks my drivers license number or my license plate number are they able to tell if I have a permit to carry?

If not, how do you know if someone has a permit to carry?

I know we have to carry our card with us at all times, but someone told me if you get pulled over the police already know that you have a permit to carry as soon as they run your drivers license number.

No

they call your county sheriff if they believe there is a formality.  Most counties start a call for service when a permit is issued.

There is a notation on your DL record to show if you have had firearms training (more of a hunting thing I think) but there is a seperate check they can do to see if you have a current valid permit to carry

The firearms safety endorsement is only on your DL if you indicate it when you renew/apply.
