Anybody got a lead on who's got the best prices for a Line-X job in the general area?  I'm in the Cities, so anywhere around here or western WI is fine, and my girlfriend's at UMD so northern MN would work out too.

Best deal?  Do you have a choice?

They are restricted franchises, so there aren't very many.  I had mine done at the Arden Hills location.  I think I have a couple referral coupons left that I can send you.  I think they are like $20 off.

There are a lot of options to choose from (color, teflon, bed size, and prep work etc), so it may be better to just call them, give them your make/model and what you are looking for and they can give you a quote for your particular job.  Their prices are usually posted on the wall, so they should be able to give them to you over the phone.

From what I understand (at least with Line-X, not sure about any of the other brands), the franchises are allowed to set their own prices.

I have a possible lead for you.  When I had my Line-X done, I used a certificate I bought at the local radio station in St. Cloud and saved  quite a bit.   The radio station and the business work out a deal where they get credit for advertising in return for offering certificates for their business.  I just looked and see that Line-X in St. Cloud still does this.  go here.. you can see what the price looks like compared to what your being quoted.   Generally, you can save a few bucks this way.

go to www.thevalueconnection.com .... then click on "start shopping, shopping cart"   The Line-X certificates are under the Automotive category.  Keep in mind this is probably only good at the St. Cloud Line-X.   I have used the value connection many times, there are some good deals to be had.

good luck

Edit:  I just realized it says 0 available on those certificates, but you could also call the radio station and ask if they have offered any lately, or if they expect to in the near future.

St. Cloud Line-X did an excellent job on two of our trucks.
