| The Tri-gun Challenge is this weekend at the Del-Tone-Luth Gun Club in St. Cloud. If you are entered - good luck! If not, stop and see the action. |

I'm headed up there.....to shoot and to be an RO
I believe there are in total 4 guys from Nordic that are RO's (and shooting) and 2 that are only shooting. I suspect that production will be rather low come Wednesday in the shop. Good luck Brian.....I'm not shooting in your division so no ill wishes for you or lil payne this year To anyone not shooting......man, you need to come and watch, it's a great match for spectators, even if you only spend a couple hours.......the bug will bite, and you'll wanna shoot next year for sure. When and where do I sign up for the 2010 match? The 2010 sign up should be around the start of May. Keep an eye open on the Tri-Gun website for the info. |

Great match that really puts Minnesota in a great light.
Thanks to DPMS for putting the match on. This match is a "must attend" match for every 3-gun shooter in the country. I also heard from numerous competitors that this was the only match they had attended that armorers would repair your weapon while you waited, even though none happened to be DPMS weapons. Also thanks to the following: The Sponsors - without them there would not be a shoot. Bob Mills - for being in charge of the match and doing such a great job (as usual). The Range Officers - what can you say, they ran themselves into the ground for the shooters safety and fun. Del-Tone-Luth Gun Club - Big Jon put the stages together and they were awesome. (I found it interestting the number of high placing shooters that came from Minnesota, most also shoot the monthly Mini 3-gun matches at this range). I also don't want to forget the workers from the Gun Club that did such a good job of keeping everything neat and orderly. The final thanks go to my son. Seeing him get the offer to go the Army Marksmanship Unit was quite the proud moment for a father. My chest was knocked back down though when I saw that I did indeed shoot "High Senior" in the Tactical Optics Division. |

Congrats to Tyler, thats pretty cool. So what did you all win for prizes? Im going to try hard to make it next year. Although I didn't win a gun, the value of what I did win was more then the cost of my entrance fee and hotel cost and I was no where near 1st. I think they said there was something like $220,000 worth of prizes. Firearms, uppers, ammo, cash, reloading presses, gun cases, knives, eye wear, clothing, magazines, gift certificates, ext. were all some of the prizes on the table or in grab bags. |

First place in every division received $3000.00 if I remember correctly.
I think the majority of the rest of the shooters received far more in prize value than they spent in entry and ammo fees. This included the last place shooters in each division. Some of the best prizes were gift certificates that were in prize bags that people just randomly picked up when their name was called. For major prizes I did see numerous rifles, handguns, certificates for weapons and scopes, and one .50 cal rifle. I also saw a lot of smiles, which I guess is the best prize of all. Very few of the shooters compete for the prizes, but DPMS really makes it nice. |
