I think the new stainless aren't actually stainless steel any longer, but instead are a dull, grayish painted cast.  Even the barrels are just painted.  Ugly.  Bills Gun Shop had a couple on the wall in the last couple months.  To get a old style, true SS model, you'll have to check the used shops.  I can't remember the last time I saw a used one for sale and I keep an eye out for used 1022s all the time.  Because the new 1022s have plastic trigger groups, plastic triggers, and other plastic components, finding an old one is your best bet.

I dont know if you have a Walmart that sells guns or is able to order them.  But I got a stainless walmart special thats very nice.  I got one of the last ones that still had a true stainless 22" barrel, and aluminum trigger assembly.   I think Walmart is severing ties with Ruger, but there still in the stores.  The one Im talking about is a walmart exclusive, does not have the barrel band, but has a birch checkered stock, with a rubber butt pad.
I think I paid 237.99 last year.  The new ones look similar but have a silver painted barrel and plastic trigger assembly (cheeeezeeeeyyy)

Looks like this:
