Does anyone know a local who makes custom Chest Rigs?  maybe not custom, but where I can have a say in what goes where.

Check out Streichers, they probably have some adjustable rigs.

Check our Eagle.  I suggest a MOLLE chest rig, then you can put whatever you want, where ever you want it!

This is your best bet.

If you want anything from a simple, compact, low-profile chest rig, to a large, full armor system ––> Buy an Eagle Molle chest rig!

A Molle system is as good as it gets for putting what you want - where you want it.  And the benefit being - if you THINK you want something in one place, you can try it there, and if it doesn't work out as well as you had planned/hoped, you can move it to a different location, check if it's feasible / accessible in that location, and either keep it there, or try another location.  Don't forget to check how good/bad your load arrangements work when running, walking, crouching, kneeling, and laying / crawling / shooting in various prone positions.

This will help you to better tune your loadout to be perfect for your uses, and in a variety of situations.

The cheapest is probably going to be a MOLLE setup.  Anything custom is going to start
costing more.

There was a guy in East Bethel (I think?) who made tactical gear.  Googling will probably find him, if he's still in business.

Otherwise, I think QuinlanV used to buy stuff from him, you could drop him an IM.

Check SKD on this sight. They have the Eagle all molle chest rig. SKD says that Eagle only makes this version for them.
