I have looked around but haven't found much info on what gear is needed.  I may be borrowing some guns to my brother so he can shoot too, and was wondering what I would need to get so we have enough stuff.

Do you draw from  a holster for the handgun stage?   How many handgun mags are needed?   Do you have to have some sort of rig to hold rifle mags?   What else would be considered essential equipment?

Thanks.

Based off my experience last year, bring at least one mag pouch and a sling for your rifle.  I didn't have a sling for mine and waiting in line was a bitch.  I can't say about the handgun/multigun stages as that was not in last year's event.

Some people took the dress up pretty seriously, but it all makes for a good event. A mag pouch for the rifle is good. The primary stage had a long line, and a sling was definately convienent, so was bringing a friend who carried my rifle...
I use my standard 20" barreled rifle with no optics and no problems, the 200 yrd targets were still a good size.

A comfortable sling will be a must

A backpack of some kind will be a good idea to carry stuff around from stage to stage.

Pistols should be holstered while walking and shooting the rifle stages.  Don't worry about fast transitions or quick drawing. (remember this shoot is meant to be safe and fun for shooters of all ability levels.)

a couple mag pouches on a belt or vest will be nice during a couple stages where you will reload.

Plan using about 2-3 mags per stage.  This year there will be several "fun" stages, so there should be less bottlenecking at a particular stage - but we are getting a LOT of registrations...so be prepared for a good amount of people

Thanks for the info. This will be my first 3 gun shoot also. Looking forward to it!
