| A buddy here at work is selling me his unfired DPMS 20" fluted, stainless upper for what he paid. Can I get some opinions on proper breakin for it? |

From their website:
"We recommend cleaning the bore every round for 25 rounds and every tenth round for an additional 100 rounds. Use a bore brush or bore snake with either CLP or solvent." also a link to a digital version of their owners manual: Here What I did was shoot 1 round then clean barrel with CLP and a boresnake for 25 rounds, Then do a full clean. Then I believe I shot 1 full thirty round magazine followed by a full clean up to 100 rounds. Then rock and roll. I think there is debate about whether this is necessary but it won't hurt your gun and is a good way to slow down and sight your gun in at the same time. |

Use Militec-1 or Slip200 EWL. Not just any CLP or solvent. Those will bond with the metal in the barrel and make your bore fouling less of an issue during operation.
ETA: It's less of an issue in the chrome bore guns. I would do it in a Stainless Barrel, though. |

Yup. Militec-1 works great in stainless guns!
