Does anyone have a gunshop recommendation for someone looking to buy a new or used handgun?  Im looking for a 1911 or a glock.  The only stores I have looked at are Gander Mountain and Dicks.  They seem to have new gun prices for there used guns. Any suggestions?

Best Selection, Prices, & Service = Gunstop Enterprises
Decent Selection, Decent Prices, & Hit-or-Miss Service = Frontiersman
Nice Selection, high-ish prices, & decent service = Bills Gunshop & Range

In the FAAAAAR North metro area (Ham Lake ~30 min drive) there's Oak Grove Arms too.  A little hidden Gem.  Small gun selection, a fair bit of military surplus stuff, Good prices, and Good Service!  Was just there on my lunch break to pick up a couple things...

Considering what you're looking for, you want to go to the Gunstop Enterprises!

Not that I saw, but I wasn't looking closely at that.  I was eyeball f(_)cking the sweet Polish Underfolder AK they had on the wall with nice new evil black duracoating!

Had to pick up the parts I needed and get back to the office ASAFP, and was still 15 minutes late returning from my lunch break.

These days, I'm a big fan of Capra's in Blaine. Not a huge selection, but they can get what ever your heart desires. EBR friendly. Just plain good people that will call you by name if you give it.

Only been to Capra's once.  It was a decent shop though!  Had some nice toys behind the counter, and the guys there were nice too.

They had a pretty nice fishing section too!

Don't forget Al's Gun Shop in White Bear Lake. He's my go to guy for great service and flexible prices.

Gunstop is great, but so is Frontiersman. At the Frontiersman, they have always promised me to have a gunsmith fix a firearm if it has any problems or reilability issues, used or new.

The two best I've seen in the state thus far. Though the annual show at the collesium always has some goodies.

You need at least one Polish Underfolder if you are to be considered a serious AK Owner

I went to his shop once and the sign said open but the door was locked.

After he let me in he told me he didn't open the door for just anyone.

He mentioned that he didn't want to get a bullet in the back of the head.

A $20 transfer is hard to beat. IMO his gun selection leaves something to be desired.

Dick's does not sell guns that can kill people anymore.  Only guns that kill animals and airsoft guns designed to be aimed exclusively at people.

Yeah, I don't get Gander's pricing either.  I too have seen their used guns priced the same as new .

They want $129.00 for same 200rd .223 value pack that Wal*Mart wants 57.88 for.
They want $15/20 for their Q3131.  That's 75 cents a round!

Honda Generators are $999, Northern Tool wants $879.

And they still can't make a profit!

What's with them pushing ATVs and $30,000 boats?   If I'm going to drop $30K on a boat, it sure the hell ain't going to be at Gander Mountain!
I would like to know how many factory certified Yamaha and Mercury mechanics they have on staff in each store to fix those motors when they need it.

Try the Wolf's Den in Hugo.  Kinda small outa the way shop but Brian and Gary got good prices on guns and ammo.  They usually have a small selection of 1911's & Glocks.  They are in the book so you cold give them a call to see what they had...

Even have an AR or two in the rack from time to time..

Yeah, I don't get Gander's pricing either.  I too have seen their used guns priced the same as new hathad to get it for the marked price of $69 - it was suppossed to be $219 according to their cash register. A $150 discount worked for me.

I have seen it online for about $140 though...

I to am frustrated with Gander and their outrageous prices. They were consistently $60 higher then the Gun Stop in most pistols I looked at.  I second the Gun Stop, I had a great experience when I was researching options and buying my pistol from there.

Capra's is right off of 65 and old highway 10 in mounds view/blaine. Nice store.

60 bucks no freaking way!  Good example at GM in EP.  OD green G17 USED for over 600 bucks!  GS same NEW $499.99
GM has gone off the deep end.  But, they must move guns to people that are not that well informed!

When I was looking at 1911's last winter, I saw the stainless Springfield I wanted at GM for $660 + Tax!!!

I bought the same gun at Gunstop for $560 out the door (taxes & all)!
