Have the dates for the machine gun shoot been set?

I thought I heard that it was going to stay in Princeton for at least another year... (if not longer)

What used to be "Gun Fair" no longer exists at Western Branch Gun Club

The owner of Western Branch might have an abbreviated version, but it will be nothing to the scale of "Gun Fair"

The Two Major Promoters of Gun Fair have been actively seeking a Safer Range to use for the spring and fall shoot

If anything  comes up I will make sure that it is posted here

Just a question - what did they feel was unsafe about the Western Branch facility?

The backstop is some what small, and the event lacks proper governing.

The first berm was less than 3 feet tall and it is pnly 85 to the first berm

Ideally it would be nice to have the first berm be about 150 yards out, that helps out with all of the beltfeds and tracers light up good then too

I don't know about you, but I get tired of getting hit with ricochets

dpmmn got a .308 jacket right in his (knuckle/arm/chest) I can't remember.  That was at the last MG shoot I remember.  I'm sure it wasn't the first time.

That was in my left shoulder, and it was .30-06
and I also got a 8mm jacket in my right lower leg, just above the top of my boot

I've had a .22 LR hit the abdomen there too.  Didn't go through the jacket I was wearing, but it still felt like a bee sting or something.

I was standing in front of the trailer & shooting on the left-side, and I kept hearing 'tink tink tink...  tink tink...  tink...' noises behind me by the trailer, and I was wondering, "WTF IS THAT!?!?!?"  Then I looked behind me, saw dents in the trailer siding, and turned back to face the range and heard another 'Tink tink' behind me and then felt a little stinging pain in my right side.

Then I knew I got it...  I looked down the line and there was a guy shooting a Ruger 10/22 at a pretty big rock in the backstop/berm @ 85 yds...

I like the range, it's close, convenient, outdoors, and cheap, but the place needs a LOT of work to get back up in better shape.  When talking with Ken about it, there seems to be little that can be done about it.

He doesn't seem to want to do anything to fix it up.  We've asked about US SHOOTERS donating lumber (at the time a member could get a screaming hot deal on a truckload of delivered lumber), tools & supplies, and time to fix the place up in exchange for a little bit of free range time, but he didn't seem interested in that either.  So who knows what's gonna happen.

I'll still shoot there, but I'm hesitant to do so without a Level 4 Ceramic Plate...

First day back at work, so things are pretty busy for me, but I'll try to add to posts, etc. as soon as I can...  I got a few photos from my friend about the arfcom shoot at WBGC, and will be posting those sometime soon too.
