DPMS has a nice little nook in the corner! Mags are 11 a pop for either 30 or 20 rd . They have a bunch of uppers there and they sure are priced nicely! Hart Bros is there. No Sully and Co. |

Wandered through...saw some people who clearly bought their pricing guide in 2043, and then bought it back in time with them...some of the prices were out of this world. Hart Bros had one of the new Taurus PT1911s there...at $479, it looked like the steal of the show to me. I finger-fondled it for a bit...VERY nicely done. I came " close to buying it, before I remembered my pre-show programming (don't spend more than $400, if you need to spend money do it on a .22 and ammo, try to escape show without spending any money at all if possible). Unfortunatly I didn't spot a .22 in anything remotely like a configuration I wanted..and the ones I did see that I wanted, were again priced as if all new handgun manufacture had been banned, and this was all there was ever gonna be. To be fair places like Hart Bros and other actual stores had good prices. It was the guys with their own personal collections there that seemed to have a parallel dimension's prices on their goods, instead of prices from this dimension... Maybe I'll head back tomorrow..I checked out everything except the DPMS corner. |
Maybe I'm a sucker, but I broke down and bought a used square-butt S&W model 36. The bluing is worn on the backstrap, but there is basically no cylinder gap and the lockup is rediculously tight (better than a lot of brand-new modern wheelguns). $259 before tax, including a soft pistol case. I have told myself 10,000 times that all gun money MUST go twoards AWB-prone guns/mags, but I've always wanted a snubbie in the worst way. I think my recent re-veiwing of "Goodfellas" may have had some effect. ![]() Yea or nay? There was an immaculate-looking Springfield '03 for $550, and a RIA 1911 for like $350, but not much else was reasonable. I never get tired of the old, worn, police trade-in generation 2 Glocks that go for near brand-new prices. And is it just me, or does it seem like there's always one more knife/sword table there every year?

Too bad my generation missed out on all the "good" shows that use to happen in this state....go to these shows looking for good deals on firearms, and oak groves and dpms are the only players in the game when it comes to treating the firearm community good. Keep up the good work Dustin and DPMS, your booth is the only one I look forward to visiting. |
You can save yourself the admission and go to Gander Mountain for that entertainment. The place where they sell used guns for the same price as the new ones. |
|
LOL, yeah, I do love Gander for that. Went in there one day and they had a used Bersa Thunder for 259. I paid 230+$20 transfer new for mine a year ago. I always hate buying guns over the internet because I feel like I'm shafting my local dealers. But the excessive pricing on both new and used guns at the mega sporting stores leaves something to be desired. Although Sportsmans Warehouse has decent pricing on firearms. Hence I buy most of my ammo and an occasional firearm there. |

My attendence at this shows would be the same if DPMS and Oak Grove were the only two that showed up!!!! I cruised the other tables....same tired stuff....same insane prices....same "used by special forces" BS. Then I hit Oak Grove and DPMS. Between the two I spent my "winter project money" and picked up: 2 uppers 1 stripped lower with LPK Magpul adjustable stock rra 2 stage trigger 500 rounds american eagle bunch of small parts and a few small accesories (sling swivels ect) for builds I ended up spending real money but all of that cost about what some of the tables were asking for a complete ar-15 rifle. More importantly, the guys at DPMS and Oak Grove were helpful and even allowed me to exchange something bought on Saturday for something different on sunday.... Good products Good prices Awsome service. Only reason I go to the MWCA shows anymore |
Fixed. I went to Cabela's once and bought a Benelli Nova 20ga NEW for ten dollars less than the used one they had one the rack.

We picked up an M4 flat-top upper and a lower parts kit from DPMS. (DUSTIN ROCKS!!!!!) It was nice to meet you. What I thought was crazy was the beat to hell merchandise for ridiculous prices -- like a scratched and dented all over lower for $129. (NOT at DPMS.) Wished Sully would have been there. ![]() ETA: Couldn't find a holster to save my life. Do they not sell holsters at gun shows anymore??? |
+1 They are about the only people at the show (besides Oak Grove and a few others) that know exactly what they're talking about. I had to get another three of their $11-a-pop AR mags (to compliment the like 15 or so I got last time). Friendly service as always. |
