The 2006 Primary elections are being held Tuesday, September 12! For more information on voting in Minnesota, please use the following link. Be sure to "Vote Freedom First" on September 12! |

Today is the day. Polls are open until 2000 (that's 8PM for you 12-hour folks), if you don't know where to vote go here. Vote Freedom First! |
|
I've not seen anything regarding a pro-2A Sheriff candidate in Hennepin County. Try contacting Joe Olson, if anyone'd know, I suppose he would: Email: [email protected] * Prof. Olson Office: (651) 523-2142 |

I haven't had the time to track who would be the best for US Senator? Mike, can U chime in on this? I can always vote for Amy Klobuchar!?!?!?!?! ![]() Who will be the best for Hennepin Cty. Sheriff? Anybody know which will give us the best fighting Pro-RKBA Sheriff? I don't have time to research it from work today, and I want to hit the polls as soon as I get home this afternoon! Keep us posted! |

In the DFL Primaries the correct answer for Hennepin and Ramsey Counties is NONE OF THE ABOVE. As much as I'd like to vote pro-RKBA, we pretty much have to vote for the least of all evils. Who to vote AGAINST: Ember-Reichgott-Junge (she has 3 names for christsakes!!!) one of the original MN Antis. Amy Klobuchar Anyone with a DFL/labor endorsement or anyone who claims to be supported by "Police Chiefs" or "Law Enforcement." It means they are supported by the LE unions and are typically Gun-banners. Union money went directly to support Mark Dayton's recent campaign against Rod Grams. If I were to vote FOR a HC sherriff I would probably go Lopez since he is not a whiny liberal white dude beholden to the unions. As an immigrant he probably understands civil rights better than a native. ![]() |

UPDATE: Spoke to one of my friends better versed in this (IE: big-shot republican attorney) in addition to what I said above: Paul Ostrow is the best bet for 5th District Congressional race Lori Swenson is the lesser of 3 evils in the Attorney General's race. +1 on Lopez for Henn Cty Sherriff. |

here is the Fitzhenry guy. not saying good or bad either way but seems more promising than a DFL endorsee Twenty-eight-year veteran police officer, sergeant in charge of patrol; B.S., law enforcement, Mankato State; graduate studies, St. Thomas; retired Air National Guard air traffic controller; CEO of Metro Motorcycle Escort; two sons involved in law enforcement; one is an officer, the other a detention deputy. Endorsements: Not seeking endorsements. Essay: Safety is at the top of everyone’s list. Can I be safe in my home, when I travel, are my children safe at school? The sheriff is the chief law enforcement officer for the county and that is his responsibility. We have a great sheriff’s office. I would continue to build the relationships that have already been started. I would work harder to get more deputies to assist agencies like Minneapolis to get into the area where the violence is out of control. Inform and train the citizens how to protect themselves and make them feel comfortable in reporting crime. I can send an email to the guy and see if I can get quick feedback. |
The problem is, whoever gets the DFL Primary nod is the one and only candidate for the general election. Lopez has the best chance and is the lesser of 2 evils, IMO. Let us know, though if you get a response from the other guy. |
Warlord, I think that Striker can change you user name I live on the other side of town, so dont get too territorial |
More nonsense. Just because you're a republican doesn't mean you need to tell people to vote against DFL'ers. In GREATER Minn. you pretty much can't be anti-gun and still be elected. I've talked to several pro-gun DLF'ers here and at least one of the state reps. seemed a bit more hardcore about the upcoming Castle Doctrine law than myself! VOTE FOR ISSUES, NOT FOR PARTIES |
+1 Only exception is when there is a possible shift in power, like the current US House races. Should the dems take over, bad things will happen (although not likely until 2008). Or you could prescribe to the "let them take the house in 2006 and we'll show the fools they are in 2008" theory. Or the "they won't vote party lines if they're not flip floppers" theory. Ah hell, noone knows the future. I need to stop listening to Rush and Sean |
I'm glad to hear input about some pro-gun DFL candidates if you've got any. This is the place to post it. Generally speaking, though, a DFL PARTY ENDORSEMENT means they accept the DFL party platform in full. Anti-RKBA is a pretty big part of that platform, IMO. I'm sure there are Democrats out there like Becky Lourey that are pro-gun, but they are not endorsed by the DFL PARTY and most of which were soundly defeated on Tuesday. I'm also talking about my district in which the liberals are the moderate voice. You should hear the Green party candidates. It would be like attending a Communist Party rally. No shit, we have hammer and sickle graffitti here in town and it's put up there by supporters. Minneapolis has no pro-gun candidates, just more or less anti.

Of course I haven't had the opportunity to speak with anyone running for national office, but I do know my state rep. (DFL) voted for the MPPA. I spoke with the rep from the next district (DFL) and he was VERY pro-gun but afraid nobody would go along with my idea to make sound supressors legal. My state senator (DFL) is also pro-gun. He runs a large agriculture operation and employs someone to control birds, with a shotgun. What a job. |
I hope you're kidding. That 2005 MPPA vote was a blatant vote-grabbing measure taken by an anti-gun politician with gubernatorial ambitions. Look at her voting record prior to that bill. From faq.beckylourey.org/index.php?action=artikel&cat=6&id=31&artlang=en
Does that sound pro-gun to you? At least we don't have to worry about her. Not sure Hatch is any better though, since his running mate Dutcher is with the Campaign to Repeal Conceal-Carry Handgun Law. *groan* |
But Hatch says in his ads, he's a supporter of the 2nd amendment! I wonder if he's killed more geese than John Kerry. As far as Lourey goes, she has advertised herself in the same way (as being pro-gun.) It just goes to show that you really have to do your research. Or, you could join the NRA and let them do the research for you. They will send out their report card before the election to let you know who is pro-gun and who is a gun-grabber. I just extended my membership to EPL. |
