HANDGUN-1 COURSE Sunday September 24 0800hrs-1700hrs Cost: $50 Special Rate, Normally $150. This offer only applies to new students and not alumni of our handgun courses. Registration Link The Defensive Edge staff will be offering our Handgun-1 Course at a special one time rate of $50 at our home base range in Princeton, Minnesota. We hear lots of people talk about that they would take a training course if it were affordable, well here is your one and only chance. The Handgun-1 Course is designed for the novice shooter or remedial training for the more experienced shooter. The handgun is primarily a defensive weapon. Small and easy to conceal, it is often the first choice when selecting a firearm for defense. The handgun is the most difficult to master in comparison to the shotgun, carbine/rifle, or sub-machine gun. If you are going to be relying on a handgun for self-defense, then you better be able to use it properly. Our emphasis is to introduce the Fundamentals of Firearms Safety to the novice, and will teach the skills necessary to properly use the revolver and semi-automatic handgun in a self-defense situation. SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF THIS COURSE QUALIFIES FOR A MINNESOTA PERMIT TO CARRY. The hands-on course will cover the following: • Legal aspects of owning, transporting, and using a firearm for self-defense • Tactics of self-defense • Proper Stance • Grip • Draw Stoke/Presentation/Reholstering • Sight Alignment/Sight Picture • Trigger Press • Reloading • Malfunctions • Firearms Safety Issues (range/home/on-off duty) • Ballistic Issues • Cleaning and maintenance Student Equipment Needed: • Handgun (revolver or semi-automatic) • Two speed loaders or three magazines (to match your handgun) • 300 Rounds of Ammunition (minimum) • Quality Holster with Thumb break or internal retention (Hip) "No Thigh or Shoulder Rigs” • Hearing and Eye Protection CY6 Greg Sullivan "Sully" Chief Instructor SLR15 Rifles TheDefensiveEdge.com |
Because all the alumni know what a great value it is at $150 let alone $50! If you think you know anything about shooting, CCW or gunfighting for self-defense, you have much to learn from Sully. As Death says: IDPA is not gunfighting. There is a big difference |
There are a limited number of slots for this course. Since we posted this about a day ago the response has been busy, as we are about half full. If there are any slots left they will go to Alumni via a list of those who are interested, and you are on top of the list. We do have a 5-gun Alumni session coming up on September 17th.  HAHAHA!!! I was just SHOCKED to see that there's a FEMALE ARFCOM member that is LOCAL! That's got to be a FIRST since most of the female members here are wives or girlfriends of members. I didn't exactly mean it like that, X.D.B.U.G., besides, I've got a date for tomorrow night already!  I just hope I can finish my work quickly so I don't have to call off my date.  I, too, Forwarded the listed link to 6 of my friends, and I can only hope they attend! I haven't heard anything back from them yet about it though... I guess that's what happens to some friends when you Graduate.
