You can get a "Metro Barrel" for you shotguns. The metro barrel is a 30" barrel made by Hastings that acts a 12ga suppressor. This is approved by the BATF and it is not a suppressor like one for a rifle or handgun. But it does quite the gun. Plus Federal makes 12 gauge Sub-Sonic ammo. I have one for the Benelli. Not a bad item if you want to hunt or shoot trap without pissing off your neighbors. |
30"? I have an Ithaca witha 30 inch bbl, and it's not quiet. I thought those "metro" ones were more like 60 inches? anything over 20" is too long IMO

It is a barrel extention, screws into the choke and is 30" added onto however long your current barrel is. A guy here in MN came up with the idea, aleast that is what I read in Feild and Stream a while ago. |
Pretty much. I put the Metro Barrel on my 24" Benelli and it is FREAKING LONG. It does cut down the noise and has less kick. It looks retarded on the gun, but you can shoot without hearing protection, and the neighbors don't complain as much. I should bring it to a DE Shotgun class

| It blows my mind that this is not considered a suppressor. Is it because it's designed for duck hunting, and therefore only deserving of a MN liberal's raised eyebrow and sighs of disapproval, instead of the usual screams of fear that scary looking guns produce? How is it that the Brits understand a valid use for suppressors while your average NPR listening, weekend antiquing, "November 2nd" bumper sticker flouting MN liberal jackass can't? How dumb do you have to be to actually believe that a typical gangbanging scrote will go through all the federal requirements and weapon-related research that is required to have a decent legal suppressor setup? These suppressors threads (no pun intended) are starting to depress me. |
