Hey Guys,

I'm wondering, I just moved from chisago county to isanti county.  My ccw has my old address, do I have to get a new one or will they update my info. I have a ccw under the 5 year expiration.

Your new sheriff should update your information.  I am sure there will be confusion because of todays ruling so you may need to be patient.  IM me if you have problems and I will get you in touch with people who can help.

You have 30 days to change it and the new Sheriff's office should take care of it.

I did it in Hennepin. They took my $10 and permit (I got a receipt) and I got a new one in a week or so

hey GoBlue

Your new Permit, Did it have the same expiration or a new one for only a year?

inuhbad- you can do it in person at the Hennepin Co SO office or via mail. I carried on a photocopy of the permit I had to turn over. I'd say the photocopy was not worth the paper it was printed on though $10 reissue fee. Technically, I think that prior to the PPA, I think you only had to notify of the address change, but you might was well get a new permit. Same expiration date

same expiry date as old permit (5 years from original issue date)

what about the 30 days, what if it has been longer?

Mine was longer. No one asked when I moved. Just went in and spoke to a deputy. He needed my new DL with the correct address (he probalby did not, but he was not familiar with the process).

I was asked for my new DL as well. The # changes with the new DL style so they needed to check that.

I went to my new county sheriff today to get my address changed. They told me since it was under the 5 year law I had to go to the county of issue.  Got home and called the county of issue and they said My new county of residence should change it for me.  When I told them what they said, they then told me they are not doing any address changes until the courts are settled.

Since the permits are still valid wouldn't they have to do an address change?

I also asked them what would happen it I got pulled over while  carrying and my address on my permit is different than on my DL, they told me it shouldn't matter and to just carry my old DL also..

Any one have any ideas ? Something just dosen't seem right

Move up the food chain at the New Sheriff's Dept.  If that doesn't work contact the County Attorney.  My other $.02 is to get all requests and responses in writing.
