What's the poop on Armoured Fire?

Last I heard, the owner was pinched for some "powder problems" but the shop was open but also "selling all inventory". I don't make it down there enough to personally know if they're open or not but have always enjoyed using their FA range when in the area.

Any input on whats going on?

Thank you for any input!

they are open.  jeff's wife has an FFL as well, so i guess she is running it.  i think she has an SOT as well.

i haven't heard anything on his charges, but i guess if you have enough money and a good enough lawyer, you too can convince the cops that a couple ounces of cocaine and a couple pounds of marijuana is for personal use.

AF is going to remain open as it was not where the drugs were found.
(although, a nice little "pipe" was found)

The gang at AF are pretty nice and willing to help out all the shooters that come in the door.

Membership rates are very reasonable...

What really bites is that the owner is such a f*cking dope head.

And keeping his/her stash in/near the childs room makes me want to gag.

They had a big sale and they did have their Glock sale this last year.

As to the future of AF? Nobody really knows.

As was mentioned in another thread, AF is now owned by Bill's Gunshop and Range.

They appear for the moment, to no longer be accepting memberships, (but honoring existing ones) and doing soley pay as you go.

They do have handguns for rent, but I didn't see any mention of machine guns anywhere.

OK, Thanks for the info. I guess that's all pretty much "good news". I just hated to think about ANY more decent ranges closing down. Especially F/A ones.

arfcommer dsspro used to do FA Wed. at Armored Fire. I'm not sure how the sale will effect that, but it would be worth checking with him about it. He's a good guy and lets my son shoot his FA stuff

I was at Bill's two weeks ago.

Two staff-members confirmed that Bill's now owns Armored Fire. I don't have any other details, but now you know you can call them directly and find out the real poop.

Should be a good change, Bills takes over AF april 5-6-7 something like that. Rumor is the name will change.
Also he will be remodeling the whole place, painting the whole place and other mods as well. All in all when said and done itll be pretty trick and how it should be.

I imagine I will not due MG retals there anymore, as Bils has there own. I just did it to fill in were jeff left off and didnt really do it for profit. just the enjoyment of others getting to try some of the modern and exotic weapons that my company owns.

I hope armored the best of luck with the new owners and itll be interesting to see the changes for better

It would appear that despite the death of Mr. Delorean, the 80's live on.

AF was pretty much a dirty dump; but hey anything for FA. However, with Bill's buying I would assume it will be very nice eventually.

Seems more and more ranges are adopting that policy.  No one really knows why, except to guess that they sell the spent brass (some ranges apparently don't even let you pick up your own brass) and the buyer doesn't want the steel or aluminum mixed in, and the range is too lazy to pick it out themselves.

With the price of good quality US made ammunition rising, it's going to force people to foreign made steel cased more and more, and if the ranges won't let you fire it, they'll probably see fewer customers through the door.

I heard them refer to it as Bill's gun Shop in Circle Pines on the radio this morning. (KSTP 1500)

At Bill's, they called it Bill's North. They're going to keep the shop open, and promised to clean the place up a bit and raise the temperature a bit in there. They also said they would make it friendlier, though if they were talking about the people, I never had a problem with the folks at AF. I just thought the place was a cold, run-down dump. But I liked the range.

Ditto.

The folks there have been really nice to talk to and very curteous.

Never had them become cross, but, then I don't tend to do things that normally piss of range masters.
(such as scrounging for brass beyond the standing line or standing up in a sit down stall. (or vice versus)

Point the business end of the gun down range, reload where you are supposed to, and don't bring food into the range.

Its not that hard to understand...

As far as cleaning it up, I agree. All of Jeffs crap and that stupid rice rocket make it look like the inside of a drug dealer's house...oops!
