I currently I use a Mossberg Persauder(500) to keep my place safe from who ever would be stupid enough to break in my house. I currently load if up with a mixture of 00 Buckshot and Hollow Point Slugs, first shot coming out would be Buckshot, next a slug and so on. Does anyone have any other suggestions of what might be better to do in regards to ammo. I use Winchester, since it relatively cheap where I buy. I have heard great things about Rotwieler Slugs(or something like that) are these good? Give me any suggestions you might have, it would be greatly apreciated. I'm also planning to pistol grip the forend, and pistol gripping the rear with a buttstock, and I'm hoping to get a taclight on there at some point as well. My thinking about the tac light would be that breakins genrally happen in the middle of the night, and they probably won't turn a light on, therefore with the light I wouldn't be firing blindly and destroying my house while defending it. thanks CINcerly, Nick |
| at the range you are going to be shooting, just about any shotgun load will work....the only reason to have slugs in your shotgun is that you intend to shoot through a car......like topjimmy before me wrote.....#4 buck works well along with 00 of course, 2,4,5,6 birdshot also...... |

I keep #4 buck or one of my special reloads for home protection but I do keep slugs on the stock for quick loading if needed. You should consider going for some training on how to properly deal with an intruder in your home to, so you dont have to shoot up your house trying to hit your target. Also some of the larger bird shot sizes work well to. |

I use all Federal LE loads... (doh!) I have 4 rounds of tactical 000 buck, and the last round in the magazine is a tactical slug. THis will change with a shotgun upgrade... then it will be 8 rounds of 000 in the magazine and slugs in the side-saddle. What kind of crazed kller would engineer mankiller bullets?! (That was what the cartoon voices in my head popped off with when I saw 1kydshot's comment on using a hand load) |

I suggest pictures of large fat naked women directly across from all openings in your house. Put lots of magazines with gay porn and more fat naked chicks on your tables and stuffed inside valuable items. Nobody (except maybe iNuh) will come near your place. You can forget about being a chick magnet at that point...but, you can certainly expect calls from Rosie o'Donnel and crew. -Warlock |
