I've noticed similar problems with cover garments. I've made some changes to try to minimize unwanted exposure. Some fast food places have booths which seem to grab clothes when sliding in and out. I now sit in chairs or sit on the outside edge of booth so there's no sliding. I always reach with my left hand when I take things off of store shelves. Using my right hand my shirt will pull up and sometime uncover the muzzle of my 1911. Even if the gun isn't uncovered, sometimes the shirt will catch on the grip, making it obvious I have something on my hip. With only a couple of exceptions, I've carried every day since I picked up my CCW last July. I'm pretty sure my gun was either visible or I printed twice early on. Both times I was talking to people and their eyes kept glancing down to my right side. Each time I had just reached for something with my right hand. |

I sometimes carry my H&K USP .45F, front pocket of jeans with grip hanging out. Or I'll run with it tucked in the front of my pants with a T-shirt pulled behind it to give it the "cool thug" look. Or if I'm just plain lazy, I'll throw it in my back pocket. I figure my pants pocket will be a good enough "cover" garment. BTW,.. Safetys are for losers that don't know how to handle a pistol. |

My first suggestion is to go to www.packing.org. For daily carry, I recommend something light and small. I really like the kel-tec P-3AT. (380 auto) Their P-32 is a bit smaller, but, you step down to a 32auto. (use hollowpoints from corbon) You can get "wallets" for them that fit your back pocket and put a spare clip inside your sock or another pocket. -Warlock |
