Has anybody dealt with Borders In Ashland on a Liberty Safe?
I placed a deposit on a Black Franklin 50 over a month ago. I was in on a Saturday went home and arranged my funds and called back on a Wed. to make a $500 deposit. I was told they sold all 5 they had in stock from Sat-Wed, but another truck would be in before the end of July, first week of August at latest. Ive called once a week to check status and the same sales guy tells me they are still waiting for truck with Franklin 50s on it and I would get a call as soon as they come in. I had my wife call there today to ask if they had any in stock and the same guy answers and tells her that they had "several" come in this week and thoguth they still had some in and he would check. He comes back to the phone and tells her they sold them all including a burgundy one today. I smell bullshit and am ready to have a "Come to Jesus" Meeting with the guy on Monday. Keep in Mind... I drove 3.5 hours from another state to give them my money and I have three Liberty dealers within an hour of me but Borders was the only one who would deliver and install. My terrain is a little difficult and it was worth the extra $300 to me. Tell me why I shouldn't call and interrogate this guy on Monday... |

I'm in there quite a bit. I've never had any problems at all. They have sold a ton of safes over the years.
If you aren't getting anywhere with the salesman, ask to speak to one of the owners. I'm not sure where they store their inventory since they demolished the building adjacent to them, and the salesman may just not know. |

Any time I call and ask for safes they put me to him, and when I asked for help in the store they went and got him. No way he doesn't know about the inventory. Im gonna call him Monday and see what explanation they can give. If I don't get satisfaction Im calling the owner and/pr Liberty |

im in there quite a bit, i live about 25 minutes away. I can stop in sometime to check inventory if you need it I have three dealers within an hour of me and like I mentioned my terrain to get it in the house is a little difficult. They said they would deliver and install for around $300 so I went drove down there and gave them my money. Not sure why they would take my deposit after I told them I had cash in hand and was impatiently waiting, if they planned on selling them out from under me. I'm gonna call them tomorrow and see what they tell me but thanks for the offer may still take you up on it. That's why I love this place. |

I didn't have any luck trying to buy a safe from them.
I too was going to buy a very expensive Liberty safe and have it delivered only about 15 miles away, they just didn't seem interested in doing business with me. I ended up buying an AMSEC from a local locksmith. I am so glad Borders didn't get my money. The AMSEC is a better safe, in my opinion. I'd walk away and find a dealer that wanted my money. |

OP if your in WV I suggest cabela's in wheeling or charleston.
they seem to have some nice safes and a huge store such as that has crews dedicated to installs. its worth looking into even if they dont have the specific safe you are wanting there are lots of options. |

Actually called Cabelas and they told me they would load it on my truck or trailer and it was mine. They don't even have a third party transporter to assist. Gander Mtn right down the road in So. Charleston has a third party transporter but they would only drop it in my driveway. |
