| Now, Ive been on here since 2001 and kinda have a feel for how thing go. But I dont know if i should be pissed or not.. OK here goes... I was looking to buy a stripped lower on here and told the guy I wanted it BUT had to find an FFL to have it sent to..(moved in the last coupla years to a new state).mind you its 5pm and not a lot of places are open to check sooooo...while looking he sends me a IM telling me its SOLD... Is that wrong on his part or am I just over-reacting???? |

The general rule is if you post "I'll take it" it means just that. Anyone should know you need to set up with a dealer to accept it, they should give you time for that.
I have been burned the other way, selling items, people post "I'll take it" then don't buy it. Meanwhile others who wanted it turn away as they think its sold. Had that one a couple of times. It screwed up other buyers more than it did me. I know you say it doesn't matter but sometimes it does. There are procedures and they are in place for good reasons. They protect both sellers and buyers and keep things running smoothly. |

Both the seller and buyer have to say something to the effect of "I'll take it" or "It's yours" to complete the deal. if the seller told you its yours and turned around and sold to someone else, its a welch on here. If didn't say that, its well within his right to sell to whomever he wants.

After careful consideration it really doesn't matter as jihad said I can get another for next to nothing anyway.... Thanks for letting me vent!! Glad I could help. I think there is a corollary to "caveat emptor" which states "if the seller doesn't want your money, then go find someone who does". |
