Know of any good fishing holes in the Louisville area?
I don’t have a boat so I’ll be on foot, pond or small lake would be best. I’d be going for bass(sm/lg), cats, and carp. I live off of Shelbyville Rd so the closer the better. If you don’t feel like revealing your golden spots in the thread shoot me a pm, I promise your secret will be safe. Thanks |

Right now the blue gill are spawning . If you want the big ones try fishing in deeper water and use light tackle no bobber and slowly drag the worm across the bottom .. SLOW is the key here you will pick up some bass if there is any in there....Hook your redworm on trough the middle and let his head and tail wiggle it drives fish nuts. I like to use eagle claw arbendean cricket hooks for this.. You can get them at wally world and they come in 4 sizes i use the lagest ones wicth is either a 2 or 6. I have realed in 8 pound catfish with out the hook straitening..
Tight lines... EDIT; Go dig fresh red worms those store bought ones wont get the big fish to bite I promis there is a defference.. |

I haven't had a chance to do any fishing this year due to an injury, but for your end of town I had good luck at Cherokee and Long Run Park last year. Cherokee is iffy. A lot of times it's completely full of vegetation which makes it difficult to fish for bass, sunfish, and panfish in general. You also have to occasionally watch out for idiot golfers knocking golf balls across the lake. The only other places I've been to in the last year are Taylorsville, McNeely, Waverly, and Watterson. All of those are a ways away from you and over-fished anyway. |
