| guys, i need to know whats the average you pay for utility bills...i'll be retiring there in about two years and i'm trying to get my finances in order..outside of a mortgage payment ill need to know my monthly expenses and because i don't live there now i have no clue as to how much utilities cost..thanks very much to all who respond |

I'm one county over from Allen, but prices should be similar. It would help if you let us know what type of house, how big, heating/cooling, etc.
Our water bill is $20-25/month for 2 adults. Electric with central heat/air ranges from $75 in the summer to as much as $350 in the winter. If you have a newer house with better insulation and/or supplement your heat with gas/wood stove, you could keep it under $150 all year long. I don't have a recent bill nearby, but I can try and look and see what the cost per kw is to help you estimate it better. SCRTC is the big phone/cable/internet provider in the area. $100/month will cover a home phone, mid-level cable package and 3 Meg internet. |

NCTC (nctc.com) controls the phones in Allen county (internet, cable).
(2400 sq ft home - all electric) Water is around $40 per month (Two adults - Two Kids). Electric is around $350.00 in Winter and Summer is around $200.00 Phone and Internet is around $80.00 per month. (Not the fastest speed internet). Regards, |
