Seriously guys, this is Stumps and KYBOB's thing.  It takes alot of effort to put these things together and these shoots are in no way guaranteed.  We have not always had a fall and spring shoot because these guys have other obligations in life.  I'm certain they will let us know with plenty of advanced notice if they are able to pull one off again.  But I really don't want them to feel that we are unapreciative and pushy.  I'm no preacher or stone thrower, just thought I should throw this out there.  (I bumped the add earlier too )

Glad you  bumped this one, cause the other thread was locked. This is were it belongs anyway Talked to KYBOB and he said he was planning on have it. Im sure he will be along to confirm.

Agreed...

If anything, I'll be more then happy to get the balling rolling if either can't or need help setting it up.

It IS a lot of fun. We owe a lot to Knob Creek for hosting us. Kenny and Steve are good to us. I believe Steve spends his day off placing tannerite and moving targets for us at no charge. We also owe Ky_bob and Stump a debt of gratitude for making it happen twice a year.

I'd love to help put this together.

Please let me know what I can do to help.

I'm a member at KCR and I'm down there about every other weekend if not more; not that this is gonna help, but if someone needs me to run something out there before the event whatever, let me know.
I've got a dodge durango, so whatever can fit in there I can haul and I've got a hitch for towing.

Here is some more eye candy to get yourself in the mood:

Spring 2010

Srping 2008

And of course the pinned Shoot Thread has tons of pics and videos.  Bob, Stump, and others pitch in a lot to make this happen and KCR gives us a ton of perks.  Hope to see everyone plus more on the next shoot.

I know that when the shoot comes closer people will be looking for targets for the shoot.( IE cars, fridges,etc...) I have come across several old boats that need to be disposed of.  They are not on trailers and setting in the edge of a field, so we would need a trailer or five and some help getting them on the trailers. Cost would be minimal beside the time and cost of trailers to haul. And to top it off all this is less than 2 miles from KCR.  I need to get them moved soon as they will be a bonfire when my FIL gets to feeling lean and mean again.  So lets set a date.......

Id be happy to volunteer my winch services, but Im a long way away!

A winch and some trailers would make short work of those.

[#31]
hkx3 if you where to come down the day before, and we could round up a couple other people we could get all of them to the range with plenty of time left over to shoot trap for a couple of hours afterward..

I don't have a winch or a trailer, but I can lend myself for helping out with my two hands and back

Just let me know what date/time and I will be there to help out.

I can help out, I have family in Louisville that have has a trailer hitch for a boat. Set a time and I can come lend a helping hand

How about this, next weekend Im going to try to be in KY early saturday.

Maybe I can swing down that way and help you guys out?

Try to get something together and keep me in the loop.

Illl bring snatch block, rigging, etc.  I just dont have a suitable trailer.
1/30/2011 10:45:23 AM EDT
[#35]
In my line of thinking, you can jackknife the truck and trailer, and Ill feed the winch cable down the centerline of the trailer, to the boat.

maybe line up some ramps, some 2x6's or 4x4's or something to make simple ramps.

Should zip right up there...

I am assuming these are smallish boats sitting directly on the ground?
1/31/2011 5:03:20 AM EDT
[#36]
Yeah, how big are the boats? Small enough to lift into the bed of a deuce-and-a-half?
1/31/2011 11:17:44 AM EDT
[#37]
They are your typical runabout size.  They are old school ski boats and runabouts Ala the 70's. No motors just hulls and some interior bits. I would say that there is maybe 6 to 7 of them.
I think I may have transportation and labor covered but it may take two trips. Crossing fingers...

Guys, not to be pushy, but I need a couple days lead time to organize my weekend.

Its a 600 mile round trip for me, so please let me know soon where/if I will be needed.

Thanks!

When this gets closer I might be able to "Scrap" one of the shittier work trucks. (I've been eyeballing one particularly vile example in the lot that no one will drive and runs like crap)

Crap, That was Me. (Chilie forgot to log off on my computer)
I'm betting his boss would be quite disturbed to read that.
Sorry Chilie. Your going to come out of the closet the next time you forget to log off.
