Is anyone going to the gun show this weekend in Lexington, or went yesterday? I'm just wondering if they have any decent deals and if it would be worth me stopping by after work tomorrow morning? Also, I'm wondering if doublestar was there? Thanks |

Quoted: Relevant to my interest headed up there this afternoon...en route to yet another Thanksgiving meal Here is a link to info http://www.lexingtoncenter.com/events/2010/20101126_kennyWoods.php |
| Why do people even bother going anymore these days. Its the same over priced garbage there ever time from the same vendors every time. I know in the past the gun show use to be a chance to buy stuff your local store didnt have. Now with the internet gun shows are outdated. I"f you can;t find it there you wont find it any where, at kenny woods gun and knife show" Ya right maby if your looking for UTG, nc star or leapers |

Quoted: Went today and did not see doublestar but slingpoint was there sans strippers. Sold something and got a good deal on a VX-III scope. Didn't see anything else I couldn't live without though. That's the nail in the coffin right there. Now we have no reason to continue going to these shows |

I did pretty good there today (sunday). I scored a numbers-matching 1939 Tula Mosin-Nagant for $90 OTD. I also got a 1950 Russian sks (refurb, numbers match) for $300 OTD. I know these arent exactly deals of the century, but compared to the way the shows were a year or so ago, its a major improvement! Only problem is, someone needs to inform some of the dealers that the days of the $700 WASR-10's are over. LOL!!!! |

I went Sat. I actually found a few reasonable deals. For example, I found a Colt Python (no box) in very good shape for $1K. I also found a 6" Model 19 that was nearly pristine for $490. Neither of these are drop everything prices but they are super reasonable.
I also had a guy price me a 9mm DPMS with Sten type mag block, 2 mags and it was sporting a YMH skeletonized buttstock for $600 OTD. In the end, I bought some primers but it was a better show that in the past. I guess it just depends on what you are looking for. No J&T was not there. |

Many things were overpriced. However, I saw some weapons at reasonable to fair prices. The problem with some buyers is that they expect prices to be at levels 5-10 years ago. Most people are looking for too good to be true deals. Occassionally they will find one but it is not common.
The WASRs for 700 is wayyy overpriced. To me a price is fair if it is going below what you normally would pay in a gun shop or near what you would pay online. |

Bought a 3 day pass since the womenfolk were out shopping this weekend, wasted it. Saw a couple of ok prices, but nothing worth going back for the other days. Still best deals to be found with individuals, at least you don't have Brillo head bitching at you over the P.A. all the time. |

I went, most all the guns were overpriced. Almost...bought a couple of the moisins out the door for $90 each but decided to hold off.
I picked up a few small things here and there (on of the army surplus guys was pretty cheap). Bought a Christmas present or two. I predict that Slingpoint will close its retail doors in a year. |

Really? Why, just because of no bunnies? I have noticed that the girls certainly brought more attention to their tables at shows and their business seemed to increase than when they didin't have the bunnies at the shows when they were first starting out, but I wouldn't think it would hurt them that bad without the main bunny |

They've got about 500 listings on GunsAmerica for a long time now and have made 4 transactions.

They don't have good prices, too much negative press, their selection is very small, and I don't think they know how to run a business. That is just my opinion though, I could be wrong. |
