I just got my NRA ILA alert and it mentioned Oklahoma had a new bill introduced to provide for a lifelong concealed carry HB3124 and that Indiana already had the option.
Lets start a campaign to write all our state reps to get this ball rolling. I've already sent an email to mine. |

My father lives in New York state and he got a Carry Permit back in the 70's. He decided to pay extra for the Lifetime option. Boy is he glad he did. It's near impossible to get a full carry permit in his county now.
As long as your permit need to be renewed periodically, it's that much easier for them to chance the requirements to where most won't be able to meet the standards or just decide not to renew them anymore. Isn't that what is happening in Ireland now. The head of their national pistol team just got his ownership license renewal denied. Just because they decided not to renew them any more. You shouldn't need permission to exercise a right. It's not a right but just a privilege at that point. |

While I'd love to see it, I doubt it would ever happen. Politicians love income for the coffers and $60 per concealed permit every 5 years is too good for them to pass up. This is pretty much the case, I think. Doesn't hurt to try, though; I'd rather pay $400 and have a life CCW permit that I never have to worry about in oh, say, 30 years. |

In Indiana the Sheriffs were against it..they used the excuse-"How can we check backgrounds every 4 years with a Lifetime, it will impact public safety, blah, blah, blah."
What they really wanted was the fees every 4 years.... Didn't work, we still got our LTCP..... |
