| OK had the best who is the worst , slowest, bad attaitude etc.? in Louisville /Lexington area. If the smith messed it up, did he/she try at least to make it right, some how? |

+1 on Pete total attitude, slow and overpriced. I had a broken 1100 firing pin and extractor that I needed to have fixed for a competition so I asked if he had them in. He told me it would be 4 weeks and 150 bucks to have it done. I told him I needed it this weekend and he said he could sell me the parts for 150. Little steep for a a 5 min job. Needless to say he didn't see any of my money
Bucky Combs did a 1911 trigger job on a gun of mine quite a while back. It was about 4.5 pounds sloppy and would have hammer follow issues bad. I didn't even try to get him to fix it as it should have never left the shop like that so it must have been to his standards and skill level. This was after I told him about it and he didn't seem concernerd or care at all. I ended up having another smith fix it back to standard and gave up on the nice trigger job until recently when I found a real 1911 smith. |
