In the past, when shipping a pistol, I've always used UPS (Overnight Service).

I heard people talk about using the US Mail for a pistol.

Is this legal?

Any suggestions of what type of service to use (Priority Mail, Overnight, etc.)?

It's going to an 01FFL out of state.

Thanks for the help....

Danny's gun repair on Biship's Lane Lousville, will ship it for you USPS mail for a lot cheaper then it will cost you to ship UPS.

To ship a handgun it has to go UPS unless your a FFL.  FFL's can ship pistols USPS.

FFL holders can mail handguns to other licenses with special form. Priorty mail is about 15.00 with insurence.  The last on I mailed cost the guy 30.00 (postage plus transfer fee).

If you are in the Lexington area you should give Slingpoint a try.  They typically ship for a very reasonable cost with no additional BS transfer fees.  Last handgun they shipped for me was around $10 or so.

I offer shipping as a service to the public and except to get paid for it. If you don't like the price go else where. But that is just my way.  Use Slingpoint or Danny's or whoever.

I'm in Northern Ky, and no one close is reasonable, and it's not worth the drive to Lexington or Louisville with the gas prices......so I'll just UPS it myself.....
