Me and a friend had a pretty good day hunting this past Sunday. Him w/ my 12 guage Remington Wingmaster and me w/ my trusty Winchester Mod. 61 pump action .22 mag.
Shot 6 squirrels, and got a nice size bag of meat.

Cutting to the chase, what is the best way to tenderize squirrel? I fried some up a few hours after the hunt, w/ mashed taters /gravy (sorry no pics, mabye next meal). It was tougher than leather. Boil to soften, crock pot? What do I need to do?

My neighbor lady used to brown it in a frying pan and then cook it in a crockpot. Came out very tender and tasty.

There is a thread in the hunting forum in the general section about cooking squirrel.  Check it out, many members are sharing their recipes.
