| What are the pros and cons of mounting an ACOG type site on the carrying handle of my AR?[b |
|
Con, sight height is too high for a cheek weld on the stock. COnsistency would be out the window. Pro, you always have your back up irons in plain sight under the ACOG, you don't have to remove anything or flip anything up. Pesonally, I would not mount anything on the carry handle. If it's an A2 carry handle upper, I would just buy a new flattop stripped upper and swap it out, that's my .02 anyway. |
| I have one A2 that shot so well I wanted a scope on it. I had to put a DPMS Delta cheek piece on it to use the scope. But with the cheek piece on it your heads up so high you cant use the sights. I do like that cheek piece tough, it reminds me of my first AR, a Colt Delta H-Bar. The DPMS cheek piece is made just like the original Colt, it just doesnt have the Colt emblem on the side of it. |
