Eta: Barden said he chose to allow the filmmakers into his home, to talk to his now-teenage daughter, Natalie, and to use home videos of his son because he wanted to give people a “first-hand window” into the devastation of gun violence.
He said he knows the film will be difficult for some to watch, but said it’s also important. “You see Daniel animated as he was in his little life and how he still should be,” said Barden, who has become an advocate for mental health and gun policy reform. “I hope that translates to the audience and gives them a deeper, more personal sense of loss and for what’s at stake here.” |

How much grief must these families endure before any healing can begin? Is this going to be an open, festering wound forever, never to be allowed to heal? It's really sickening. I believe I know what those parents had to endure as my son was severly injured when he was 9 and for days I thought I lost him. It was a time that you find you and your wife search your souls for how you will go on. He survived, however, and we were able to avoid that turn of events that the Newtown people have had thrust on them. However......all that being said..........it has to stop sometime and trotting out the grief a couple of times a year for this or that will trivialize what happened there. When I see stuff like this coming out, I have to ask who underwrote it and what's in it for them. Someone is making money on this for sure; at least I doubt it was done for free.
Also, the country morns for the Newtown families. What about the THOUSANDS of people who have been shot in Chicago since January and the HUNDREDS of people who have died due to those shootings? Every 2 hours and 20 minutes someone is shot in Chicago. Why are we not seeing the grief of that city and those residents portrayed on the big screen? It sickens me to see that happening right up to this minute yet the press ignores it in lieu of one single event in a tiny town in CT. Things are really screwed up. |

It sickens me to see that happening right up to this minute yet the press ignores it in lieu of one single event in a tiny town in CT. Things are really screwed up. A bunch of single shootings is not as sensational as one mass shooting. Much like an airplane crash that kills 2-300 people. That gets reported for years in some cases. People die every day in car crashes yet the crashes are barely reported. The movie is going to be a plea for more gun control thinly veiled as a "documentary". A documentary is to explore a subject in detail. What is there to explore here? We already know the movie. Adam Lanza was a mentally ill person whose mother tried to pretend wasn't ill. She bought him guns. Then he went to a school which is a gun free zone. The school's training for this live shooter scenario was to huddle in a big group. This was shooting fish in a barrel. I bet they will show how easy it is to get a gun. The left wing idiots keep saying they will mail assault weapons right to your door. I have yet to find that website. Anyone have a link? I am sure they will show that Riverview Gun shop just handed the gun over and make FFLs look like they don't follow laws. This "movie" will also try to spin how momma Lanza tried to get her son help but nobody listened. Truth is she refused to believe he was that ill. I would put money on this being a major reason for her divorce. The movie will also try to show how standard capacity magazines are a problem. Just like all movies the gun will shoot a hundred rounds before it is empty. Who is the producer on this? American hating bloated pig Michael Moore? |
