Could I build a M-12 type pistol 10 Rd .380 mag non threaded barrel? Also could I buy one outright since the mag is in the pistol grip, no shroud, no threaded barrel=non ban item...I like the MAC types and need one to complete the collection I don't care about trigger slap and their other quirks/being a good boat anchor! Thanks!

When you say M-12 are you talking about the Beretta M-12?

If the Beretta M-12 (or clone) was preban then yes you could purchase it or make one from a preban. However if post ban (post 9/13/94) manufacture then no you cannot buy it or make it because of the magazine being outside the pistol grip. Of course if you can get the firearm classified as an  "other" so it gets transferred in a manor that isn't a "pistol" or "rifle" under CT law then it might be legal to buy or make.

There is a Mac-11 and the state bans them by name ("MAC-10, MAC-11 and MAC-11 Carbine type") along with the Mac 10.

There are pre ban ones which are obviously legal and you're right the Mac 11 .380...but you don't think I could bend a Cobray flat to make my
own .380 pistol? Doesn't meet any of the ban criteria and since it's not a MAC because I would be making it or does it fall under type?
