So I had a regular check up today at the DR office today. He noticed my blood pressure was high today and with my dad's family history of heart disease, diabetes and a host of other ailments he ordered a EKG in office. Not expecting to have this done I had my G19 IWB and S&W 442 in ankle holster . I was able to hide the G19 with my shirt when I took it off but the ankle rig was a whole other story. I told her I had a weapon there for protection as she raised my pant leg and she was a bit startled. She mumbled something like "Patient Privacy" and not to worry. She also went on to tell me that she was talking to her husband about getting a weapon since they live in Waterbury and her neighborhood is getting worse.
This is my first time in 8 yrs of carrying getting kinda caught off guard I guess on my next DR visit I will see if I have to get a new DR Anybody else have something happen like this ?

Last year I left my gun in the car when I saw my orthopaedic surgeon. I didn't want to find out the hard way it would be a problem. I asked, and he said it isn't a problem. He said guns show up on lots of people's x-rays.
My primary care physician retired a couple of years ago. Not sure about my new pcp. I have had several meat wagon rides over the years due to heart attacks. Those originated at home or from hospital to hospital, so I wasn't carrying. However, I have asked some ambulance staff what they would do if I was carrying. They said they didn't know. They have never run into the situation. That surprised me. |

| I have a messenger bag in my car that I keep some gear in. When I have a doctor's appointment or hospital visit, I go inside, use the bathroom and place my gun inside. With so many people carrying laptops or iPads with them.everywhere, no one gives these bags a second look. The bag I use was made by a friend of mine who made about 20 of them. The gun compartment is hidden. Even if someone gave a cursory glance inside you would never know there was a gun. I never leave a firearm in my car but that's me. |

Unless they have one of those stupid signs saying "Gun Free Zone", I don't see the problem. It's their practice, so I'm sure if they were real leftists they could tell you that you are no longer welcome in their practice.
(My wife is an office manager of a Dr office. I'll ask her what she thinks……..she doesn't love guns either) |

I went to go get drug tested for work. Since I knew I would pass I didn't give anything at all a second thought.
I got into the room with the nurse lady or whatever she is and she says I need you to remove your hoodie. (I was just wearing a hoodie over a tucked in white T) I got immediately visibly nervous, and she made a comment about me not being the first person they caught with some shit taped to their stomach. I kind of chuckled and said, "oooohh, ok" and removed my hoodie, exposing my IWB appendix carry M&P Shield. She didn't even flinch and says, "oops, ok, nevermind". I asked her if she found what she was looking for and she just laughed and handed me the cup. It caught me totally off guard. I have taken many a drug test and never once had I been checked for devices or anything. |

AKA man purse LOL! That is what I was wondering. I'm in my early 60's, bald and shave the rest of my head of the crappy thin white hair that is left, typically wear Ray-ban "shooters", and am often told people think I'm a cop. (I'm not trying to look like a cop - carry concealed - never been in military nor a cop). The man purse sounds interesting. Guess I have to get into some "metro-sexual" mind frame before I can look for one. Dear God! |

AKA man purse Incorrect. A "man purse" as seen all over Europe is considerably smaller. My custom messenger bag is actually a bit too big because of all of its features. And I know this because I have two "murses" that I got for Christmas. One in black leather and one in dark brown. Both by Coach. Very fashionable. Don't hate me because I'm beautiful. |

I'm still interested. Recommendations what I should look for? Brand name or something? Approximate dimensions? I need inexpensive, because it will be rarely used and I don't want to spend a lot of money. Also, I'm curious. As a CT state's attorney I figured you can carry anywhere you want. Wrong? |

OSOE makes the Mookie War Bag which is excellent but hard to get.. I almost got a Flison. Their quality is outstanding and looks very classy. More "camera bag" looking with its leather trim. All of the companies I mentioned make different sizes. 11x8x3 is a nice size. I never carry a laptop or iPad but you'll notice a lot of companies use them as perspective for sizing. Always check the gear section in the EE. There are bags in there all the time. For cost/value/durability Eagle rocks. They have a good selection. The Courier Bag LE is awesome. Go to all of these manufacturers sites, see what you might like, then search the EE first. |

I don't really give it a second thought, few months ago I stopped into an urgent care facility with a sinus infection. The PA asked me to remove my shirt and put on the gown upper..... the doctor didn't even bat an eye, just went about her business of listening to my chest, then gave me a prescription and I was on my way.
Nothing to see here! ~g |

Didn't see the last part. I am not allowed to be armed while working, either in my office or in the courthouses. While I work in LE, I am not sworn LE. Some states do have sworn, armed prosecutors. My fraternity brother is the DA prosecuting Bill Cosby in PA for rape. They are sworn and are issued sidearms. Because I am not sworn, I am not exempt from any of our gun laws, i.e.: the AW ban, mag capacity, etc. |
