My good friend who beat cancer is coming up to visit and he lives in the Communist Republic of NY so I wanted to take him out for a good time at the range tomorrow. I just realized it'll be raining and with the choice of venue Highrock I may have trouble with paper targets. I don't own steel or know their steel rules, so do any of you have an idea for a cheap reactive target setup that Highrock will allow? I was thinking cans on strings. I have clays too but I don't think they allow them. Rounds would be pistol up to 5.56.

I'll be shooting outdoors tomorrow too, but I have to zero a rifle in. Luckily the benches are covered.

if I have time I'm gonna stop and pick up some of those "ez see" targets because they're more of a plastic than a paper. Otherwise, I'm going to bring some 1 gallon ziploc bags and put my paper targets inside them. Obviously they'll end up getting wet, but they should stay manageable for long enough to do what I need with them.

I hope you guys have a blast!

Use paper plates. The waxy coating varies depending on quality, but most are pretty water resistant. Get a plain colored one and bring a can of spray paint to make a bullseye. I do this on dry days because it's cheaper than real targets anyways.

My friends came up too late so were gonna hit Fairfield then head out tomorrow. Bonus is I get to pop 3 firearms cherries tomorrow! Very excited.

ETA: cherries as in people who haven't shot before
