I dropped off my newly acquired Ruger Mk2 at Jojo's. One thing led to another and I have more than doubled my investment after firing exactly one round out of it.

I originally intended to only have the barrel threaded. Then it needed to be shortened to about 3 1/2". That led to re blueing the barrel. Which led to refinishing the lower also, which led to having a Volquartsen trigger assembly installed at the same time.

This thing now cost me more than the Mak90!

Good decision? Or bad decision?

Are you happy with it?

Skip the front sight reinstall. Slap a micro reflex in the rear dovetail and be done with it

Holy crap man! You went to town on that thing! If you want to shoot it one weekend let me know. I'm always up for a range trip and my club is right down the street.

This right here.  If you like it, that's all that matters.  The Volquartsen trigger is freaking awesome in my suppressed MkII.  Enjoy it.

I'm not sure yet. I hope I will be.

I've got another week or so before I get it back. I never even knew what a Volquartsen was before I got there. So far i paid for it and fired one subsonic round to see if it cycles.

I'll take you up on that offer for sure.

Also I put a muzzle break on the Mak. Thanks for the thread job!

Shipwright's disease!!

I am having my MkII barrel threaded. I may or may not add the better trigger. I have yet to shoot it. My suppressor is mounted on a 10/22 until the pistol comes back.

I don't like spending too much on handguns. Not a big fan of shooting them. I only own a few. I like them for self defense. But for shooting I prefer rifles to anything.

Sounds like it's going to be an awesome pistol!!
.22s are worth spending money on due to them being a firearm that you shoot often/most often.
But only if you have or can find ammo

Just picked it up yesterday. The trigger is awesome and the barrel came in at 3.5"  The refinish on the barrel looks fantastic. It appears they turned it down about .010" to clean off the remaing warning letters. At this length I hope every thing will stay subsonic.

There was a little mix up. I dont think my request to have the lower refinished was written on the ticket, but JoJo (maybe?) immediately refunded that extra cost and will refinish it on monday. That is great service!

And to answer my question, YES,is was all very nessicary. The only thing I regret is not having new grips for it yet

Very cool.  JoJos is two people.  JOhn and JOdy.  Hence the name.

I saw it the other day and it came out great.  Now my J-frame is next.  You were holding me up.

^ Well I'm dropping it back off tommow to have the remaining finish work done. I hope it doesn't hold you up any further, but if it does I promise to feel bad. I swear.
