So, did any of you travel to Hartford in order to enjoy the inauguration of our beloved governor yesterday? There was a wonderful parade, followed by a 19 gun cannon salute, and even a formal review of the NG troops! |

Quoted: Ask him if he saw the sniper teams on the roof of the armory... Quoted: Quoted: A buddy of mine was part of the national guard team at the Capitol. Quite a few people asked him to point the cannons at Malloy.Mike Ask him if he saw the sniper teams on the roof of the armory... |

What a pompous waste of money, I hope those .gov cocksuckers get a disease Most of them are AGR, they are all former 13Bs. The last artillery unit was converted to a Chemical unit almost 15 years ago so most folks on that line are E7 and above. The 192nd FA has a very long tradition, being one of the oldest units in the United States Army. It is now the 192nd Military Police Battalion (I/R) out of Niantic and it deploying to Cuba this year. |

Quoted:
Those aren't "real" artillery guns. They are ceremonial guns converted to fire shotgun blanks. We had a few M116s in my battalion in Germany. Once I found out they shot blanks, I lost any interest in being on that detail. I am sure that was done because the politicians are scared someone might "accidentally" shoot them. How happy would you have been if Malloy and his minions were accidently hit with an artillery shell. I would have cried......tears of joy. |

Damn Thanks for the info The guidon for the 102 had so many campaign ribbons on it you couldn't see the top hand of the bearer That unit was commissioned in the 17th century 1672! |

There are other types of blanks apparently.
We used shotgun blanks in our guns and fired them for retreat. Quoted:
M101A2 105mm howitzers. That's a hell of a shotgun shell... http://images.scribblelive.com/2015/1/7/30c09c27-c7c1-473a-8557-0f30e5b21479_800.jpg Quoted:

That's what they use. No modification to the howitzer. |
