Guys
Just lost my well pump! Well, actually I know just where it is, in the bottom of the well, just not working! Here is what I have: 1 1/2HP, 230v, 3 wire pump, 7 GPM, on 550' of black poly. Thanks! |
| Right, test the control box if you have a multimeter. My pump for the livestock and fields is shot, and 400ft deep so I feel your pain. I'll replace it myself later this summer, when I can hoist the poly out with my tractor. Fortunately in the meantime I have city water access through the house. |

Thanks for the replies guys. I have horses on the property, and don't really have the option to be without water for long. So, I bit the bullet and had a guy out of Derby come out. Turns out the red leg is chaffed thru, so that is why it showed a short. However, the pump wire is over 30 years old, and was chaffed to the conductor in a bunch of places, so I just had the guy replace it all! And, I am sure as hell not going to put a 13 year old pump back in the 550 foot well, so he got me for both the $1700 pump, and $1400 worth of #8 three lead! No guns in the budget for quite a while after this one! |

I feel your pain. Mine silted in and could not be brought up, had to drill a completely new well and get the whole shebang. 12k hit I wasn't expecting. Sucks. GAWD! I guess I should stop bitching about the $4500 this cost me! |
