WHATS EXERYONE USING FOR CHARGING HANDLES ON THERE AR? I use a PRI Gas Buster charging handle. I noticed that when using my .22 LR adapter, hot gasses and burned powder particles were spouting up from the gap between the lower and upper receivers and right into my face. This is because when firing .556 most of that crap goes down the barrel and into the gas tube while in a .22 LR it all stays in the receiver to push the bolt back in a blowback operation. These handles are designed to shield the escaping gasses from the receiver gap (plus the gas coming down the gas tube) and vent them off to the side. I don't want to sound like a commercial for PRI but they work extremely well. In case anyone cares.... PRI Gas Buster charging handle at Midway Inc

I've been meaning to do this on my entry length stock'ed AR. |
