About to toss my forms in the fire place

Fuck these Nazis

2nd amendment isn't about playing games.

I got the weekend to think about this.  Talk me out of it

The only thing pushing me to register at this point is concern that the Stasi will want to match up my purchases at dealers to what is registered.

I sold a lot of shit last year because values were going up constantly, and it enabled me to buy other things for my collection.

You're not alone brother.
I was too last night and today gathering, counting and filling out all the crap.
Almost don't want any of it with the new laws.

I'm at work

It's all ready to go

On my desk

Stamps, notary embossments, etc, etc

The shredder is 12 paces away

I want to video it

Send it. So you can shoot them.

Its too late now for this purpose but you can request a copy of your firearms list at despp to see what firearms are linked to your name. Most of the time there are discrepancies. Even if you sold them, they are likely still on the list.

The day Mallory signed the bill into law, I called into the local radio station's talk show (due to my elected offices and background, I'm a known quantity and a regular guest on the show) and said I wasn't going to register. Took some flak for it, but I planted my flag and stand by it.

Not going to do it.

I sent mine in about a month ago, and I had to do it like a bandaid....if I had sat on mine I would have been thinking just like you...but these are some of the reasons that brought me to the post office.

I dont want to be looking over my shoulder until i get the hell out of this state....each one of us that hangs out on this site have probably already been red flagged, so were already known about, just because of our interests.

Do you have any NFA stuff?  if you do you're already "registered" (your chief and the feds know about you)  Right there made my decision easy.  I have 2 stamps pending and 1 in my possession....cant hide that...

This one doesnt pertain to me really....but do a bunch of people know about what you have, if you have kids what if your kid has a big mouth, people could use them against you/hold them over your head.....and this is a scary thought....

Lastly, what if your carrying one day, and you have to use your pistol in one CT's many beautiful cities/shitholes.....LET THE INVESTIGATION BEGIN....and it will be thurough

Oh and now we can have a BAYONET LUG on our postbans  WHO would pass this up!!

But if confiscation truly happens, and I am forced to turn in my stuff.....Ill cut my receivers in half before they get my functional firearms.

Hope this helps Matt!

No since if you want to use them. Anyway, if the connstapo starts confiscation and we will more than likely know before they show, I will offer you and your rifles temporary safe harbor free of charge at my RI house.

This is my promise to all. If the time comes IM me and we secure them.

Check the CT carry dump from March. See if they know about what you have. If they know, you might as well register. It seems dirty. But you'll be an even bigger target in the mid-term if you don't.

Whatever they don't know about? Well... what they know can't hurt them.

I was shocked to find most of my purchases in the dumb. I was also shocked at the ones I couldn't find in there.

Thanks for the offer.

Folks whatever you do, if you decide not to register, don't store your stuff where it can easily be discovered should you have a defensive gun use at home or on the street. That right there could be the difference between the DA pressing charges or you getting convicted.

I had to send in 3 forms today for guns I decided to keep here instead of moving to my Florida place. The woman at the Post Office said "thank goodness I don't have top register my M&P". I asked her if it was an AR15. She said "no it is an M&P15". I told her she has to register it and she said she thought only AR15s have to be registered. She thought it meant if the model said AR15.  I explained anything with a threaded barrel and she said "even my husband's Mark III pistol".

There are a ton of people who do not think the laws apply to them. They will be shocked.

Everything is un-named on the old list. However they may now have 3 on the new list. I'm not sure, as I started a thread to verify this.

It depends on your position in life. If I was not involved with a woman who works for the police, I would not register even my goat.
But because of her working for law enforcement, I don't want to jeopardize her employment if I get arrested. So I'm a good little husband / peon and comply. Everyone will weigh their own decision and decide what is best.

Don't register and you run a risk of felony charges/conviction/prison and if in prison you can't leave this shit hole of a state.  None of the keyboard commandos are going to give a shit about you.

Register any you can still leave this state for freedom when you are ready to leave.  I am not willing to risk not being able to get out of CT.

Just finished up my paperwork, and will get it notarized and overnighted tomorrow (yes I know about no Sunday delivery).  I didn't procrastinate, I just did not want to do it period!  As long as I get a receipt that it was delivered, I am happy.  I have Monday off, and may drop the paperwork off in person if I get too uneasy about trusting the mail!

The man (or woman) has got a point.

I thought about it. State already knows what I have. Doesn't matter when I leave the state that I "re-registered" it. CT still knows I bought it here and will gladly turn over one or both records to the Feds if asked. They probably already do. Lost cause there. Everyone who's made a purchase from an FFL in CT needs to just accept the state knows it exists and was bought by you. You can move out of state, but there's still a small papertrail permanently left behind tying it to you.

If I can keep my job another 12 months by not doing anything stupid, I can GTFO of CT. Kind of hard to move out if I'm fired or sitting in jail. I've also curtailed other "risque" behavior for the same reason.

As harsh as it sounds, I think this is a good thing.  The more people who find out the hard way these gun grabber politicians are a bunch of despots who'll tell people anything they'll want to hear so they can force their own socialist ideology onto society, the more likely they'll be angry enough to kick those jerks out of office.

They can start with that Crypt Keeper stunt double Ed Meyer.

Unfortunately I had to register.  For one, I already registered my Colt Sporter back in 1994 so the cat is already out of the bag, and for another, I pretty much already have a number tattooed on my arm after I went through that whole registration process.for my silencer.

It all depends on what the line in the sand is for you.  For me, it's if they go back on their word and try to confiscate them once they're registered.  That's when I'll tell them to go to hell.
12/28/2013 3:54:38 AM EDT

Register . So what if your pride is hurt for a little while. You can still use your guns without worrying about getting slammed with a felony.
If the day comes when they want to come for them, move them . Digging your heals in and refusing to comply works for some. I can't go that route, nor do I choose to . I'm a member of a great shooting club and love to use my guns. I don't wanna have to hide everything under my bed, or move them out of state now ( when I can still use them)  . The guys who went through the first ban with hiding their guns really had nothing to worry about the past 20 years, there wasn't a confiscation . I'm hoping for the same but not counting on it. Today is much different from back then , but I have hope it will run the same corse. I can almost bet they will start looking this time around for people who so called "owned" a aw before the ban and didn't register.

If there was a dps-3 sent to the state on your AR transfer then you already are registered as owning the gun.

If you are posting anything about owning an ar-15 on this or any other board then they can put you on a list of possible "assault weapon" owners to be investigated and cross compared to other data bases at a later date.

Your prized "illegal" firearms become safe queens.

Even then your not off the hook.
If you ever have an issue with another individual, or an angry x wife, current wife, neighbor, or your kids school teacher doesn't like something your kid said at school weather made up or real, the cops can get a warrant and enter your house to check for firearms.
And the far left judges in this state will issue that warrant so don't think they wont. There are judges that are "known" to be easily persuaded to issue warrants with flimsy cause.
If they find your "illegal" safe queen AR-15 or whatever, you will be arrested with a class d felony (for now until they make it a higher class felony next year) and you will never again be able to purchase, own, shoot or even handle any firearm again in all 50 states for the rest of your life.

My lawyer and I had a talk about this among other current issues and he is a very pro 2nd amendment lawyer and specialized in this.

I own my guns to shoot. I like shooting ALL my guns and I go threw thousands of rounds of many calibers of ammo a year. (thank you Dillon)
My biggest fear now is a 50% tax on reloading components.

Its up to you but one false accusation of a threat from a liar neighbor, x wife, spouse, "friend" etc. will end you right to self protection and your shooting hobby for life even if you move to Texas.

I'm registered to keep all my options open in the future.

That's My .02 cents    But its your choice.
